Kelly Clarkson gave birth finally on June 12. And today, she tweeted the name of her brand new baby girl:
Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :)

So there we have it: River Rose. I’ve heard of dudes being named River, but never ladies. It’s a little hippie-ish for my taste, but I don’t completely hate it.
What do you guys think of the name?
6-12 is a nice day for a birthday. I am sure Ms Clarkson wanted the baby born before Friday the 13th!!! But the name makes me hungry……why you ask? RRB.. Arby! :)
I knew a girl with a name River Blair. As long as they don’t introduce their kid on a playground with both names its cool. River Blair didn’t have many friends who could say her double name. River Rose sounds like a tongue twister.
I think it’s pretty. It’s unconventional, but not unheard of. I’m surprisingly liking the name, but you’re right, I’ve never heard of a girl named River. Then again, I kind of hate the fact that Jamie King decided to stop going by the name James. I loved it for a girl.
I can’t stand when celebrities give their children stupid/ironic/clever names. This is not one of those times. I think it’s a very pretty name :)
