I feel like I’ve never seen Jessica Alba in a single movie, though I know she’s done them, obviously. Nowadays, she’s mostly just carting the kids around, or stepping out in something way too fashionable just to get papped being fabulous. She’s generally harmless, but there’s not much going on there (in my mind) – which is not to say I don’t like her, I just don’t generally notice her. Well, the acting thing is still her first love, so that’s what we should be talking about here – particularly, the fact that she has a nudity clause so that her grandparents will never be subject to seeing her bare breasts.
From Glamour:
“I don’t want my grandparents to see my boobs. That’s it. It would be weird at Christmas. And, I mean, really, if you look at the movies I have done, getting naked would never ‘elevate’ the picture.”
True that – at least she realizes that! Gratuitous nudity is just so overdone and isn’t shocking or provocative anymore – and certainly isn’t necessary in movies like (let me IMDB this…) Spy Kids and Little Fockers.
In any case, Jessica also shared her thoughts on feminism:
“Where I was from, you had to answer to a man if he was the breadwinner. My mom told me that didn’t need to be the case for me—I didn’t need to rely on a man. She taught me how to hustle. I was determined to be financially independent. So I started making my own money when I was 12 [with acting]. That was freedom.”
Get it, girl. There’s no better feeling than making your own money and doing your own thing. I’m into it!
