It’s not set in stone, but Chelsea Handler‘s probably getting her own show on Netflix. Makes sense that she’d be looking for a new gig considering her announcement earlier this year that she’d be leaving Chelsea Lately at the end of 2014.
From The New York Post:
Netflix is close to a deal with wisecracking author and E! talk-show host Chelsea Handler for a new show, The Post has learned.
“Handler has a deal with Netflix, but the format is to be decided,” said one source close to the talks.
Handler raised a ruckus a few weeks ago when she went on Howard Stern’s satellite-radio show and criticized her current employer.
During the interview, she also mentioned that she thought Netflix would be a good place to land a new gig.
It’d be interesting to see how this pans out considering Netflix has no programming like this, so it could be big. I’m not the biggest Chelsea Handler fan, but maybe with the right people around her, a new show could shape up to be pretty good!
I wonder who she’s sleeping with at Netflix to get that gig. She finally got her own show in 2007 after she had been screwing the CEO of Comcast Entertaintment for a year, which is where she made her “name” in the first place.
