Okay, so she didn’t quite go that far because she doesn’t actually use foul language that’s not scripted apparently, but Sarah Jessica Parker did say that famous women are “pretty unfriendly” to each other. Of course that’s the case – Hollywood is hard as shit, especially for women, so it forces them to be cut-throat and yes, unfriendly. That’s not an excuse and doesn’t make it acceptable, but it certainly means it’s not at all surprising.
Here’s what SJP told Harper’s Bazaar:
“I think so much reality television – and the women that dominate culture today – are pretty unfriendly towards one another. They use language that’s really objectionable and cruel and not supportive.”
“I like to remember that Carrie and the other women in Sex and the City were really nice to each other. That was the bigger picture.”
I mean, she comes off as a bit sanctimonious here, but I can sorta vouch for her niceness. Many years ago – probably in ’03 or so – I was up at Barnard on the Columbia campus, and SJP used to take little (at the time) James Wilkie to this child play group or something that was hosted there. Before the kids came out, she and the other mothers would sit in this student centery type thing, just chatting and relaxing on the couches there.
Anyhow, one day I came in from the pouring down rain (had no umbrella) and SJP actually got up from her seat and got me a cup of coffee. Pretty kind, if you ask me. I’m partial to her because of that, but I use “objectionable and cruel” language on the daily, so she probably wouldn’t like me very much!
Love your story, and she looks great in the pictures.
I thought it was a well known fact that her and Kim Cattralll despised one another. If so she’s a bit of a hypocrite No?
Yes I also heard many times that all other girls feuded with Kim cattrall and she even missed a lot of their appearances together
