There aren’t many stars out there who could put out an album, unannounced and out of nowhere, and still have it hit number one on the charts. And yet, that’s what Beyoncé‘s self-titled record, put overnight on Friday the 13th, is set to do. Early sales figures showed that the album sold 550,000 copies in the US alone in just three days. Beyonce’s surprise self-titled album is all but guaranteed a No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart this week. Industry sources suggest its sales have grown to over 550,000 in the U.S. through Saturday (14) night. The album may sell 600,000 by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Dec. 15.
“Beyonce’s” expected debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, along with its official Nielsen SoundScan sales figure (through the end of the tracking week on Dec. 15), will be revealed mid-week.
I’m gonna be honest: you guys know I went off Beyoncé a couple of months back, not for any real reason but the fact that she kinda annoyed me by spamming my Instgram feed with her millions of photos of like, fans holding banners, which she titled “#my work”. I’m not sure why that grated on me, but it did. However, I’m back on the Beyoncé train full steam ahead after this album. It’s so trashy in places, so NOT radio friendly… and really, really fucking good. It’s gonna have girls wearing neon lipstick and applying for gym memberships in record numbers, seriously.
