Family Guy took a very bold move and killed off one of their major characters, and no, it wasn’t Meg (voiced by Mila Kunis). They killed off…
…Brian, the family dog! Brian is more than just a regular family dog. Brian was a talking, upright walking, wisecracking character, like anyone else. And they let him get hit by a car and die. From executive producer Steve Callaghan for E! via USA Today:
We thought it could be a fun way to shake things up. It seemed more in the realm of a reality that a dog would get hit by a car. As much as we love Brian, and as much as everyone loves their pets, we felt it would be more traumatic to lose one of the kids, rather than the family pet.
And then guess what? By the end of the episode, there’s a new dog to replace him.
God, Seth MacFarlane is the worst. What’s up with animated shows thirsting to kill their characters?
Did Seth MacFarlane not listen to Tom Hanks when he said, you never kill off the dog. “Fun way”, what a jerk.
No, he listened to himself not wanting to do Family Guy anymore. He’s over it. I don’t blame him.
That all being said, I will not lie and say I didn’t cry several times during the episode.
The last episode of this season better be a dreamy flashback/awakening like on Dallas when Bobby was “dead” and came walking out of a hot shower.
If Stewie can be 2 forever, Brian can live forever!!!
The new dog can suck it. BRIAN RULES!!
