You know how Mariah Carey released her new single, ‘The Art of Letting Go’, on Facebook the other day and I was like, “Uh, what’s wrong with this song?” Well, apparently it’s not Mariah that’s to blame, but an idiot sound engineer who uploaded an unfinished mix of the song instead of the completed version. D’oh!
Here’s what she posted on Facebook about the situation:
“A mistake was made by a brand new sound engineer whose only task was to press the space bar and upload the song to Facebook, while my team, and an incredible group of people from Facebook, partied while listening to the properly mixed and mastered version of ‘The Art of Letting Go’ on repeat from my iPod on my home speakers.
Clearly, I was focused on answering your questions during the Q&A. There was no reason for me to wonder if the final mix we were listening to in that room together was different than what you were listening to!”
LOL, someone got fired! To be fair, the actual “finished” version isn’t all that much better than the previous one, but then again, I’m not really into songs with too many lyrics for the melody – with the exception of Alanis Morissette’s ‘Unsent’, which is one of the best songs EVER. Anyhow, have a listen for yourself – is there much of a difference? Is this song any good?
