Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are totally down for doing a third X-Files film — but is anyone else? The 2008 sequel made an appalling $4 million on opening day, so it would really be up to the studio. And then it’s a matter of whether or not fans would go see it. Here’s what Duchovny said about it at a panel for the TV show’s 20th anniversary, via Los Angeles Times:
All the principals are on board. Gillian and I want to do it, so it’s really up to 20th Century Fox at this point…If it takes fan encouragement to get Fox interested in that, then I guess that’s what it would be.
“All the principals” includes the show’s creator, Chris Carter.
So what do you guys think? Would YOU see a new X-Files movie? Honestly, all I want to see is Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny come out as a couple.
Only if they also revive Krycek!!
I don’t care about another movie since the last one was so poor, but Gillian can still get it and they are TOTALLY together.
