Cory Monteith passed away suddenly after a suspected drug overdose last month in Vancouver, so it’s bittersweet that his final film, McCanick, which will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September, sees him portraying a drug addict. Goddamn – that’ll be a tough one.
Another of his last projects, a movie called All The Wrong Reasons, will also appear at the festival. In that one, he plays a shop owner with PTSD brought on by a family tragedy. Well, can’t say any of these are feel-good films, that’s for sure.
Still don’t really know what to say about this one. He’s not the first star to die young from such a stupid thing as drugs, but I suppose our similar ages makes it feel extra weird.
