Courteney Cox once had a television show called Dirt, about the darker side of celebrity and the entertainment industry. Anyone remember that show? I thought it was pretty good. And this story sounds like it could be a plot on Dirt.
So here’s the story. Shannon Rogers Guess (AKA “Shannon Guess” AKA “Shannon Rogers Guess Richardson” AKA “Shannon Richardson” — Jesus Christ, wtf is this, you can only register with SAG under one name) is a film and television actress, in the sense that she’s basically a glorified extra. She’s appeared on such TV shows as The Walking Dead, playing the role of “zombie” and The Vampire Diaries as “student.” Clearly she didn’t have a speaking role on Walking Dead (zombies don’t talk) so I don’t know how she managed to get these credits on IMDB, as they’re pretty strict about their guidelines. There was this incident where some dude listed his name as a recurring character that didn’t exist on How I Met Your Mother, and he got away with it for a long time until they banned him.
ANYWAY. This Shannon Guess/Other Names Here person was arrested for sending ricin-laced letters to President Obama and Mayor Bloomberg, after trying to blame her husband for it. NY Daily News provides more info on the bizarre story:
The red-haired Texas actress who last week told FBI agents her husband was behind the ricin-laced letters sent to President Obama and Mayor Bloomberg was arrested Friday for allegedly sending the letters herself.
Rogers Guess, a mother of five children from previous relationships, was charged Friday with mailing threatening communications. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
Last Friday, authorities hauled away Rogers Guess’ husband, Army veteran Nathan Richardson, for questioning when she told them she found a suspicious substance in the refrigerator of their New Boston, Texas, home.
The couple, reportedly expecting their first child in October, had been in the process of getting a divorce, which may have been a factor in Rogers Guess’ initial accusation against her husband.
John Delk, a lawyer for Nathan Richardson, told The Associated Press Thursday that Richardson may have been set up by his wife, in retribution for the pending split.
“There are a lot of factors I’m aware of that indicate (Nathaniel Richardson) was set up in this deal by her,” Delk said.
And it just gets weirder, here’s some of what was in one letter:
You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face. The right to bear arms is my constitutional, God-given right and I will exercise that right til the day I die. What’s in the letter is nothing compared to what we got planned for you.
Guess that’s one way to get publicity. Her IMDB profile is really entertaining me. She lists her age range as 18 – 30 (like, what? That’s an effing huge age range) and she has her yahoo email address up there too.
Was this the same Shannon who was involved with the late Gary Coleman a few years back? If so, she’s had quite a career.
Someone needs to remember that ‘constitutional right’ and ‘God-given right’ are by no means the same thing. I’m pretty sure that if Jesus were asked, he probably wouldn’t be so into guns.
I can not believe that what any actress can sent the Poisoned letter to president Obama?

WTF is right. Can you just go into any bumf*ck Egypt Wal-Mart and by ricin now or what?
Yeah, where did this loser get her hands on a very dangerous and highly monitored poison? Well, at least she didn’t blow up a federal building to prove her “God given rights.”
She’s certifiably crazy. Exposing her unborn child to ricin is one thing, and then there’s the age range she thinks she can play!!!! 18-30? Much more like 50-60. Self unaware people are so amusing.
