I’m not sure why so many people hate on Miley Cyrus. She’s young, she’s “punk” (LOL), she’s trying to do her thing and has yet to go completely off the rails despite being a child star with a bonkers ass father (and mother) and enablers around every corner. Still, some people really can’t stand her, so much so that they want her dead. I’m looking at you, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez fans.
Miley took to Twitter to air this issue and basically tell everyone that they need to calm the f-ck down, even her own fans (“Smilers”? Really?), who are known to take things a little too seriously, as well.
Basically! Someone responded to her basically saying that she’s right, but if anyone talks shit about her idols, she’s going to respond. Like, I’m sure TaySwift really cares that @swiftyfan4lyfe or whoever is defending her honour on a social networking site, but cool your jets.
We all know what it’s like to take it personally when someone doesn’t like something that means a lot to us. It’s because we become invested in the art we consume and develop emotional connections with it. I know when I make people sit down and listen to songs that I looooove and they’re just like, “Eh, it’s okay…”, I definitely get annoyed and question their taste for like, five seconds. Then I take a deep breath and realise that everyone on this planet has their own tastes and that’s what makes us all human, blah blah blah. Why these idiot kids are always threatening to kill celebrities or theirs partners or dogs or what the hell ever is just beyond me. This goes for Beliebers, Little Monsters and all the rest of them, too. Parents, keep your kids off the Internet until they’re old enough to have a grip on reality.
Goes to show that the artists and fans need to spend a little less time on twitter and get a life that has a little more meaning. No excuse to hate so much, lighten up, kids.
