If I think too hard about it, it really bugs me out how we’re all autonomous beings with hearts that work on their own and can sometimes stop working and so many things can go wrong and ahhhh! It’s crazy, this whole being alive thing. Therefore, I totally understand Jessica Alba‘s panic when she woke up last week and thought she was having a stroke.
From The Jimmy Kimmel Show (via DigitalSpy):
“Basically I thought I was having a stroke last week,” Alba recalled. “I really, really thought I was. It was 2.30 in the morning and I woke up and my hand started to go numb. The whole entire thing went numb.
“It was dead, I couldn’t move it. My whole arm went numb, I got cold sensations in the back of my neck to the front. I can’t move my face.
“I texted my paediatrician. It’s my kids’ pediatrician, but it’s the only person who will answer me at 2.30 in the morning.
“I texted him and I said, ‘I have these symptoms… it’s all going downhill!’ He was like, ‘You’re a little young for this’.”
An MRI scan later revealed that she was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome, a common condition that can cause numbness.
Glad it was nothing serious, of course, but that story totally set off my own anxieties regarding: heart attacks, strokes, amnesia, blood clots, spontaneous combustion… I’ll stop now.
Didn’t Franki Munoz recently suffer from a stroke?
Carpal tunnel is a bitch, my mum had it and she needed surgery on her wrist.
Had carpal tunnel in both hands, she must not be the sharpest tool in the shed if she thought she was having a stroke from that symptom. But not being able to move her face is some other problem.
If I thought I was earnestly having a stroke, I think I’d call 911 before I simply shot off a text to my son’s pediatrician. My mother in law lives 4 houses down from us, her yard man came running up in a panic one day & I found her mid-stroke. It was frightening to see the progress, not knowing who I was, where she was, and finally not being able to speak intelligibly. This reminds me of Kim Z from RHOA feigning cancer. It makes me mad when people fake stuff like this for sympathy or compassion. Have a real stroke, then call us… What an insufferable woman.
She’s not too young for a stroke! My cousin’s husband had a stroke at age 28!
Your never to young for a stroke. It dose not discrimate. My second cousin had a stroke at 3 years old.n
thought i was having a stroke, had the same systems..did all kinds of tests, but found out i had a different kind of Migraine attack..it was bad enough
Go to your Chiropractic every time you are tired or stress, an adjustment cures those symptoms, and or headaches and migraines.
