For those wondering about the ‘counseling’ at the BTWBall BornBrave pre-show, it will be a fun tailgating experience for monsters to unite. At the BornBrave Bus you have access to professional private or group chats about mental health, depression, bullying, school & friends. There will also be food and games, DJ White Shadow and Lady Starlight will DJ with host BREEDLOVE to keep the experience fun. BornBrave Bus Is a place where mental health + depression are taken seriously w/ no judgement, FREE real help available to all. I feel like most kids don’t look for help because they feel embarrassed so mom + I wanted to break the stigmas around ‘help’ and make it fun.
—Lady Gaga, on offering “counseling” sessions pre-concert, and you know, I could make the obvious joke that anyone who goes to a Lady Gaga concert should probably undergo some counseling anyway, but hey, when have we actually gone for the obvious jab around here at Evil Beet?
Seriously, this is probably a pretty good idea. I think there’s a lot of people out there who are walking around that definitely need some therapy, and aren’t getting it either because it’s too expensive and they don’t have insurance, or because they’re afraid of the aforementioned stigma attached to seeking professional help for mental or emotional issues, and it’s something that needs addressing quick-like.
+1 on Lady Gaga today, huh?
This is great, especially how it fights against the stigma attached to therapy etc. +1 to Lady Gaga indeed.
Not a fan, but I think this is a wonderful idea.
I don’t know. It sounds interesting and I assume that Gaga has had some actual therapy.
But therapy takes a while and is expensive. I imagine what she’s thinking about would be counseling, which is good too; especially with engaging counselors.
This might get some people (primarily male) more comfortable with counseling/therapy, if their job allows.
Along with that, studies have shown that psychoactive chemicals, correctly assigned, are as effective for common issues. They are always cheaper. Only psychiatrists, not psychologists can assign drugs, so that is likely out. But that is therapy, not counseling.
Counseling, in this instance, is similar to First Aid and Therapy (being talk therapy, but therapy in general) is similar to treatment beyond GP.
The curmudgeon in me thinks that she got paid off/befuddled by some local people to drum up business, but my upbeat side decided that she wanted to do something because of Newtown.
I’d say, more than anything, that it is a symptom of our society that a lot of people do not have a good enough friend to signal the need to get some help or provide a good ear.
Anyway, I’m a Gaga sorta fan. I like her music, mostly, but she falls down (to me) in her presentation most of the time. And she tries way too hard.
IMO anyone who worships a celebrity needs counseling.
Why do singer smoke ?
