So I’ve only heard bits and pieces over the last few weeks about a new movie coming out (The Butler), but something I read today really sparked my interest—and it’s that Robin Williams will be playing the role of former President Eisenhower in an upcoming movie, The Butler.
Let me back up a second. The Butler is a film that chronicles a butler and his wife, and the years of service they committed to various White House administrations (eight of them, to be exact). The ‘butler’ in question will be played by Forest Whitaker, and his wife will be played by Oprah Winfrey. Sounds pretty decent as it is. And when I dug a little bit deeper, I found that the rest of the cast was just as compelling:
*John Cusack as Richard Nixon
*Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower
*Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan
*James Marsden as a young John F. Kennedy
*Minka Kelly as Jackie Kennedy
*Others such as Lenny Kravitz, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Liev Schrieber, Jane Fonda, Melissa Leo, Terrence Howard, Mariah Carey, Vanessa Redgrave, and Alex Pettyfer.
Completely unbelievable cast of characters, right? All they’d need is some Anthony Hopkins, Meryl Streep, and Liam Neeson in there, and we’d be talking highest-grossing movie of all time. Or, you know. Something.
I cannot wait to see this movie.
