This chick has had some much better-looking days (like all of us), and though her father’s Hollywood royalty and her boyfriend’s an up-and-coming photographer, it’s refreshing to see that sometimes you just don’t give a f-ck anymore than anyone else even if you are way famous by association and some other stuff, too.
Jump in to find out who this chick’s super-famous father is (and of course, by virtue, who she is, too)!
Yup, that’s Clint Eastwood right there, and the chick in the top picture, that’s Francesca, his daughter. Who was born in 1993.
Funny thing about this Francesca girl, however, is that this photo of her daddy? It was a still from Bridges of Madison County, which is, in my humblest of opinions, one of the best movies of all time. It features Clint Eastwood as the main male character, and Meryl Streep as the main female. Meryl plays a woman named Francesca, and the two embark on a torrid love affair, though Meryl’s married to another man, who happens to be off on his own adventure to a county or state fair or something.
Bridges came out in 1995, but began pre-production in 1994. And the movie rights were purchased back in 1991, and from that time on, Clint Eastwood, also the film’s producer and director, wanted Meryl Streep for the part. Could it be that Meryl is Francesca’s mother? Well, probably not, but hey. It’s nice to think that Meryl and Clint could have actually had something going on, you know? And if you’ve seen Bridges of Madison County, then yes, you do know.
Show of hands—whose seen this movie?
And did you love it so, so hard?
how do you find this movie to be one of the greatest of all time? it’s about a woman cheating on her husband. haven’t you just been crucifying a 22-year-old girl for cheating on her boyfriend? i find that interesting and a little inconsistent.
I find it one of the greatest of all time because Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep’s acting was off the chain. Which is one of the primary reasons that some movies, regardless of the plot and story developments, are considered to be better than others. Plus, it was a movie. Meryl Streep did not actually cheat on her husband (?) with Clint Eastwood. ;)
She’s married to Don Gummer (in 1978) a sculptor.
I imagine they met at an arts exhibit soon after Cazale’s death.
I doubt she’d be the cheating type.
obviously. but movies are meant to portray stories about people, right? i just find it interesting and thought it was worth a comment.
Oh I agree that there’s definitely something amiss among parallels of fiction and real-life, and how people respond to them both under different circumstances. :)
weirdly, when that movie came out, i made a conscious decision not to see it because i didn’t want to see cheating romanticized and turned into something beautiful. now, twenty years later, i find that i am much more forgiving (theoretically, or hypothetically, or whatever) of a situation like kristen stewart put herself in. she did a dumb, careless, hurtful thing, but she’s a real person with real emotions and feelings and regrets and sorrow and all of that should be considered when you’re passing such harsh judgment on her.
I think it’s a bit interesting too Katie… Nothing against you Sarah. I totally understand that the acting talent alone can leave a huge impression, but…. Food for thought….
Awww. I like Clint Eastwood, but that movie … yeah, no.
Francesca’s mother is pretty definitively Frances Fisher. She looks JUST LIKE her mother with a few unfortunate tweaks.
Clint has something like a billion kids fathered by different women, most of which he didn’t acknowledge until 2k. He isn’t a perfect person to be sure. Sondra Locke screwed him over though.
As for the movie, I didn’t care for it. It was better than the book, though as Clint Eastwood has a thing for illicit romances, apparently. :)
And, to be fair, he’s also got a good eye and is a decent director. I like Unforgiven.
BoMC is the age-old romanticized seduction of the lonely wife, a story literally “as old as the hills”. Right or wrong it is a poignant theme and will remain until society changes women’s role a bit further. Even then, I imagine it will capture hearts and imaginations.
Is there an evilbeetesque discordancy with Kristen Stewart’s affair and BoMC? Hm. I’d have to say the key differences are:
01) BoMC is a fictional account with the author being the avatar (so stated). The book is crap. Kristen and crew involved real people. Die Hard is a cool show. In real life? Not so much.
02) BoMC involved people at the same general ages (in the book, I forget about the movie but I believe they’re close). Kristen and crew are fairly far apart. Most of the blame should fall on the guy, but he’s pretty much gotten away with it.
03) BoMC was also wrapped in anecdotal tense, meaning it already happened, lending nostalgia to the tale. Kristen and crew are right out there, right now.
04) Finally, right or wrong, Rupert Sanders is not Clint Eastwood and Kristen Stewart is not Meryl Streep.
Given the above, nope. Not seeing it.
yeah, that’s all too deep for me. i never even saw the movie. :)
No worries. Just offering up food for thought. ;)
