Get More: Nina Dobrev, Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, 2012 Movie Awards, New Movies
OK, call me overly-sentimental this morning, but this movie looks amazing. It’s moving and heartwarming and Emma Watson is flat-out f-cking adorkable in this trailer. Her “American” accent is a little bit sketchy, but she definitely pulls off this performance and rocks it right the hell out.
The movie, ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’, is based on the book of the same name, and according to IMDB is a coming-of-age drama-dy:
An introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors who welcome him to the real world.
About the film, Emma says:
A trailer of the film, released last night, shows the former Harry Potter series actor dancing in lingerie during a burlesque show to a song from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
“I was very nervous to that stuff,” Miss Watson told a cable television channel at the MTV Movie Awards yesterday. “It was tough. I think Harry Potter fans will love it because it has so much heart, like the Harry Potter stories do. I feel like it’s the perfect transition from Harry Potter to kind of a more adolescent movie. It’s a little bit of an older tone. It’s darker.”
Stephen Chbosky’s book is among those that have prompted most complaints to the American Library Association, for its treatment of drugs, homosexuality, nudity and offensive language.
‘Perks’ is set to premiere in September, later this year, and while I probably won’t see it in theaters, I’m quite sure that it’ll be a guilty-pleasure Saturday afternoon movie when it comes out on HBO or something.
This was my favorite book as a tween, and I have to say, this trailer makes the movie look shit. And Emma Watson is just about the worst choice for Sam; just totally wrong.
