Because, you know, everyone else is. Benedict Cumberbatch, in case you didn’t know, has acted in a number of movies that I’ve heard of but never seen, such as War Horse, Atonement, and The Other Boleyn Girl, but he also plays Sherlock Holmes in the BBC series, Sherlock, and that’s what everyone’s going crazy over. Again, I’ve never seen it, but so many of my friends and a good number of blogs that I read think that Benedict here is the hottest thing ever. And not to be rude, but I kind of don’t get it. I don’t see why so many people find him so attractive.
And apparently, Benedict himself doesn’t get it either:
He has topped his fair share of “sexiest male” polls, particularly after setting female hearts aflutter with his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes on television.
Yet Benedict Cumberbatch doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about.“I don’t know about the world’s [sexiest man]. Or anybody’s,” he says.
In fact he has so little faith in his supposed sexiness the actor believes he would struggle to take the title of sexiest male in his own home.
“Maybe in my flat I’m the world’s sexiest man because I’m the only guy living in my flat,” he jokes. “I’m very flattered. It’s so silly that it just makes me laugh. I see all the faults that I’ve seen for 35 years of my life with myself so I don’t know how else to take it other than to giggle.”
Thousands would disagree.
Well, ok, he’s a grown man who giggles, so that’s appealing. But I don’t know, he just doesn’t do it for me. However, whenever I’ve seen anyone else say that they don’t find him attractive, the people who gush over him don’t shoot it down. I’ve never seen that. Instead, they always say “oh, you just have to see him in action. You just have to hear him talk.” So let’s check out a recent interview, all right?
Wow. That is remarkable. Is it his voice? His fancy accent? His charming demeanor? Is he just one of those people who looks different in photographs? I think it’s a combination of all of those things, but either way, I’m probably going to have to check out Sherlock now.

That’s weird, because I have to change the channel whenever I see him. I find him so repulsive that I literally look away and can’t watch Sherlock even though I like that other guy from The Office.

HIGHLY recommend you watch Sherlock. First part is on Netflix, and I had to download the second part of the miniseries. I’ll admit I fell madly in love with him! He’s a stellar actor and I can’t particularly pin what it is either but he’s on my top 5 list now. Martin Freeman is in Sherlock as Watson and kills it too!
He isn’t attractive in the slightest, to me. Although I do like the color of his eyes. Everything else is bad.
I adore him. Sherlock is one of the best series on television now, and I seriously recommend it. The cast is amazing and perfect and the storylines are fantastic. I admit Benedict is a bit on the different kind of handsome, but he’s handsome just the same. He’s really a ginger you know, I think he looks lovely either way. They forgot to dye his eyebrows for series 2 episode 1 though, haha. And Martin Freeman is glorious.

I only find him attractive in Sherlock- but I find him RIDICULOUSLY attractive in it. Outside of Sherlock he looks like an alien (but still with great eyes). You need to see him striding along in a greatcoat and scarf to appreciate his full impact.
I tried to find him attractive in other shit, but honestly, he’s just hot as Sherlock. Watch Sherlock, though, serious, he’s AMAZING, so is Martin Freeman.
(Tom Hiddleston is hotter, though, weeeeeee.)

Oh my God, if that ABC interview makes a difference for you, you have to watch Sherlock.
You have no idea how high he can fly.
Benedict has a definitive presence on screen .. he doesn’t want to be the hottest movie star on the planet.. he wants to be the best actor he can be and make a decent living doing what he loves.. I haven’t seen anyone with his physicality and gifts for a long time..
I just feel sorry for all the people that work in entertainment. Getting judged by the world based on their looks. High school just never ends does it?
