“I dunno who’s left, I mean a lot of comic books have . . . they’ve all been done. I don’t think anyone’s done The Flash yet, and that’s one I’d probably have a go at. Other then that, I’m not sure which comic book heroes are left.”
– Daniel Radcliffe discusses the possibility of playing The Flash or another superhero in a movie.
Oh my gosh, you guys. I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but I hate all these movies based on comic books. I hate them so, so much. Well, ok, I did like The Dark Knight, but Heath Ledger made that film into so much more than another Batman story. And that last X-Men movie was ok, but mostly because of James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence. Other than that, no thank you. I just wish that Hollywood could maybe try focusing on something else besides making a movie or four about every single superhero that ever was.
And I know that isn’t a popular opinion. I know that because every single one of my friends went to see The Avengers at least three times. And I won’t begrudge you that, ok? It’s fine if you get your rocks off by watching all these movies. I hope you’re having a great time. But there are a few of us who would benefit from going an hour or two without hearing the rest of the world gush about Captain America, and there are also a few of us who would positively die if dear, dear Daniel Radcliffe got caught up in this whole trend.
But maybe I’m out of line. Maybe Daniel would be terrific as The Flash. Maybe a movie about him doing everything really really fast would be really entertaining. What do you think?
