Please take a moment to read these excerpts from Kris Humphries‘ interview with Life & Style. As I’m sure you all realize, Kris Humphries is going to be a fixture in the entertainment world for years to come, and since he’s already such a key figure in the media and so loved and adored by millions, it makes sense that he would want to make sure all his admirers know what he’s really about. I won’t give everything away, but here’s a spoiler: he’s a great dude.
From Life & Style:
Kris Humphries is in the midst of a heated divorce with Kim Kardashian, but the busy NBA player set aside time to speak with Life & Style during his Sector watch photo shoot in New York City. Kris was candid about the tough year he’s faced and says he’s eager for people to get to know the real him.
“I am a genuine person who says it like it is,” he told Life & Style at the March 20 shoot, adding about being the face of the brand, “I only like to be involved with things I truly believe in. It’s the kind of person I am. A lot of people do things just for money, but that’s not for me.”
These days, the 6-foot-9 athlete has one of the most famous faces in the world, but he tells Life & Style he’s not concerned about the negativity.
“I’m used to it,” he confided. “I’m comfortable being in my own skin and being out there.”
As for the future? He’s taking it one step at a time.
“I’m really just going with the flow right now, trying to have fun in life,” he says. “I just want people to see the lighter side to me. Life is too serious sometimes — people take things too seriously. I think everyone should be able to make fun of themselves and just have fun.”
If there’s one person who stands behind Kris’ character, it’s Sector’s Chris Del Gatto.
“Kris is always very thoughtful about everything he does,” Del Gatto tells Life & Style. “It was a no-brainer that he be the face of Sector. He really embodies the ethos of the brand. He’s someone who pushes himself.”
Yeah, I think this is all pretty much true, especially the “genuine person who says it like it is” part. From watching the shows, it’s clear that he’s one of those people who will tell you the absolute truth, no matter what, with absolutely zero sugarcoating. That made him seem like kind of dick sometimes, but that’s just the kind of person he is, and if you don’t like that, then, I don’t know, I guess don’t marry him. I think Kim just wanted to find some clueless dude, mold him into what she wanted, then marry him and get pregnant. It was never about being so in love and all that, it was about getting someone to bend to her will and also give her babies. And yeah, she picked the wrong person.
I kind of like Kris. Too bad he’s going to disappear after the divorce is over. Except in the NBA, I guess. Meh.
I didn’t this think it was possible to like anyone less than I do Tebow shows how wrong you can be. Kris your fifteen minutes are up go away !
I’m with Emily on this one, whenever I would see clips on “The Soup” or online where it would be set up as “OMG! This guy is such a dick! Listen to what he says….” I always found myself either laughing or saying “well, that WAS valid”. He always seemed to be trying to be a good guy, but people in a fake world are very opposed to honesty.
Remember when they first started going out and Kim was obsessed about the fact that he spelled his name with a “K”? Then she got a photo from his mom from when he was a kid and gushed that she wanted babies that looked like he used to look. Actually, there were rumors that Kim was pushing him so hard (picking out wedding dresses and shiz like that very early in their “relationship”) that he nearly ran away. Which, of course, he should have done. Am I the only one who remembers Kim’s little girl stupidity at the beginning….especially the part about having to marry Kris all because his name started with a “K”?
God, it makes me sick that not only do I know this crap but also that I remember this crap. Ugh.
I do not for one minute believe Kris Humphries is a nice person.
Yeah, we can all go around saying mean and hurtful things which he does, and say we do that because we are calling it like it is. However there’s a definite line that separates meaness from being straight forward.
If he despised the Kardashians so much, why did he grovel and beg Kim to stay, telling her he would do anything she wanted. Does that mean he would still act in what he called the scripted Kardashian reality tv show, and perpetuate what he is now calling fraudulent? When she did not want the marriage anymore, he became so cruel to her. He is not nice, he is a phony, who is vicious when he does not get his way. Move on Kris Humphries, slavery is over! Learn how to be a gent!
