Hilary Duff Had Her Baby!

And she named it something straight out of a resort-wear catalog!

The baby was born on Tuesday evening in Los Angeles, at a healthy 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and the little man’s (yes, little man!) name is Luca Cruz. Luca Cruz. Hilary and her hockey husband, Mike Comrie, issued the following statement via Twitter earlier today:

Welcome to the world, Luca Cruz Comrie! Tuesday evening, we became proud parents of a healthy 7 pound, 6 ounce beautiful boy. We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world. He is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well.

Ha! You might feel like the luckiest parents in the world, Hilaryandmike, but you’d be wrong if you thought your feeling was actually true. Yes, ma’am. See, I gave birth (well, no, I didn’t *give* birth, they more or less *took* him out under emergency circumstances, so it wasn’t as blissful as “giving birth” sounds) a month ago to an also healthy, beautiful little boy, and I have to say that I would probably be the luckiest mom in the world, with my husband a close second as the luckiest dad (because AH MOMS ARE DADS TOO). We could fight about this, but I have a feeling that we’d end up at a stalemate anyhow.

Either way, congratulations, girl, and I’m glad to see that your pregnancy flew by as fast as it … well, seemed to fly by. It seems like just yesterday you were announcing to the world that you were going to bring a sweet little life into the world, but I’m sure it felt like ages to you, no doubt.
