As I’m sure you all know by now, it’s really, really hard for me to say anything nice about Lea Michele. I think it’s because I hate her. Could that be it?
But you guys, something happened. I’m not sure if it was in this interview or in my soul, but something happened, and I don’t feel that deep, intense loathing for Lea right at this moment. In fact, I feel just a little connected to her. Bizarre, right? And yeah, I do feel a little dirty.
Check out these excerpts from the interview for yourself, then let me know if you felt the same thing that I did:
On tattoos: “I do have 14 tattoos, but I also do come home every single night and watch reality TV with my cat.”
On her favorite television shows: “Oh my gosh. Anything reality. I will literally watch anything, from Hoarders to Say Yes to the Dress. Anything like that. I just think that sort of mindless entertainment really will get your mind off anything that’s going on in your life.”
On the drama-free atmosphere on the set of Glee: “No, people can try to make up as much drama as they like, but the truth is that we really are the happiest family.”
On how that kiss with Ashton Kutcher in New Year’s Eve was totally not a big deal: “I come from Broadway. I’ve done a lot of things. That’s child’s play compared to some of the stuff that I’ve done.”
Ok, I think I know what it is, why I sort of like her all of a sudden. It’s because she talked about two things that I love very much: cats and reality television. It seems that anytime a celebrity that I usually don’t like starts talking about cats, my view changes completely. I can’t hate on a cat lover, or a dog lover, or a horse lover, or a guinea pig lover, or … you get where I’m going with this. What tricky, tricky starlets, bringing your pets into this.
Ah, and reality television! I can’t, I just can’t. I’ve always enjoyed a good reality show – at the house I lived in during college, we had mandatory Hoarders and Intervention nights, and my housemates there introduced me to Jersey Shore and Teen Mom – but things got really out of control last fall. It started with me deciding that a great idea would be to watch every episode of every season of Jersey Shore, and then I thought that it would be a good thing if I knew more about the Kardashians, so I watched every episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I watched season two of Kourtney and Kim Take New York, and then I decided to start watching Dance Moms. I am totally with Lea Michele on being able to watch anything reality. My problem is that now I’m all up to date on Dance Moms too (which is glorious, by the way), and I don’t know what to watch next. Does anyone have any suggestions for a new, wonderfully trashy reality program I can start watching?
But yeah, Lea Michele, right? Not so bad. Also, I am surprisingly in love with her little sparkly number she’s wearing on the cover of the magazine. I don’t know if I’m ok with these feelings.
Toddlers and Tiaras!!
Exactly what i was going to suggest, ha.
Yay, Toddlers and Tiaras! I’ve definitely watched it before, and it seemed like a reasonable choice after Dance Moms, but I wasn’t too sure about how great it would be to watch it repeatedly like I have been with the others. But I will definitely give it a try, because I do love me some trashy television.
Thanks!
She looks really pretty, but I’m not sure what she is wearing – a jeweled swimsuit?
You know who else has a great relationship with a pet?

Watch the Bachelor or Sorority Girls!
Good to know you realize it was irrational hate. Lea is a big animal lover and well she really does watch a lot of reality tv.
Funny how everyone always says she is some attention seeking diva yet she doesn’t go to ever event and she doesn’t end up in the gossip rags all that much.
The only time she really gets attention is on the red carpet and well I think she is just playing a character and having fun with the posing and with fashion.
Yeah she is bit dramatic and hyper but really that isn’t hurting anyone.
Her casual clothes aren’t anything but jean and nice tops, maybe some cool boots once in awhile.
