That’s right, ladies! The most famous living Beatle is officially off the market as of, er, sometime today.
If you feel out of the loop, you’re not alone. This whole wedding thing has been shrouded in mystery. Sir Paul is marrying fiancée Nancy Shevell, whom the Daily Mail epithets an “American heiress” and, elsewhere, a “millionaire socialite.”
In stark contrast, the New York Observer insists Shevell is hardly the picture of U.S. royalty, describing Shevell instead as a “New Jersey-ite,” “tomboy,” and “trucker girl” (Shevell works for the MTA in New York City and, we are told, only travels by bus).
The Observer also reports, almost begrudgingly, that Shevell is “exceedingly self-possessed, relaxed, [and] collegial,” with “raven hair that swings glossily from side to side.” Huh. From the article:
Ms. Shevell told The Observer that she didn’t understand what all the fuss was about. “It’s just not that intriguing,” she said. “Not like his last marriage, which was really intriguing. I’m over 50. I work. That’s it. I haven’t been social and I have a small group of girlfriends. There really isn’t much to talk about.”
Anyway. The wedding ceremony will be attended by just 30 guests at the Marylebone Register Office where, as the Daily Mail notes, Paul married first wife Linda McCartney in 1969. The guests will include McCartney’s five children, as well as Shevell’s 19-year-old son.
Paparazzi spied the couple hitting the gym this morning, and paid special attention to the pair’s “matching tracksuits.”
She’s over 50?? I would sell my soul to look as good as she does at 50
