When I read the horrible, sickening, backwards ass comments that Tracy Morgan made, I was outraged. I don’t understand how people can feel so much hate for other human beings, and I never will. So I went about my business this morning and, into this afternoon, I was bothered by Tracy’s inexplicable rage. Not even Christina Hendricks’ magnificent beauty could completely turn my frown upside down. But you guys, everything is ok now. Everything is all better because Tracy apologized:
“I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville,” he said in a statement issued to The Advocate. “I’m not a hateful person and don’t condone any kind of violence against others. While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context.”
So sincerely remorseful for spewing hate, guys. So touching.
“Choice of words” is such an understatement of what is wrong with what he said.
Unless he means he is sorry he picked ANY words about the topic, strung them into homophobic and discriminatory sentences and said them.
If that is what he means when he is apologizing for his “choice of words,” then I guess I’m okay with that.
If he merely means he should have expressed his homophobic and discriminatory opinions in a nicer (or somehow more superficially acceptable) way, then he remains a big douchebag.
When Sunnis kill tens or hundred of thousands of Shiites, when Jew and Moslem kill each other, when Serbs exterminate Moslems, when millions die in war.. his comments seem relatively harmless. Outraged? Reallllly. You oughtta to go rotten dot com and see some of the evil that men do. TM’s a boy scout in comparison.
