Zach Galifianakis was a guest on Real Time With Bill Maher when they were discussing California’s Prop 19. I don’t know if y’all have heard of Prop 19, but it’s kind of a big deal. If it passes, marijuana is gong to be LEGAL. LEGAL! Meaning you can’t get in trouble for possessing it, you can smoke it just about anywhere and no more “medical cards”. You might be able to find a bag of that sticky green wedged next to boxes of cigarettes at your local 7-11 this time next year if all goes according to plan.
The best part of this clip is when Zach tries to hand his joint over to Fox News’ Margaret Hoover, who declined but sniffed the air and said, “Oh, it’s real.”
What do you all think about that tree getting legalized?
title rhymeeeess!!
I love Zach SOOO much. Really.
My grower friends are not thrilled about prop 9 because it will allow commercial operations to take over their biz, but it would let people that just like to smoke a little herb NOT GO TO JAIL FOR IT.
If it’s legalized a lot of hard working mom and pop operations could lose their livelihood and make the economy worse. Here in Northern California, it’s not a popular idea for that reason. A lot of regular people make their living growing pot.
Medical cards would still exist and would still allow the possession of up to 8 ounces. Prop. 19 allows up to 1 ounce. Many dispensaries are against it because it encourages taxation, and imposes stiff penalties for those under 21 if caught.
Personally, I’d like to see it legalized. Sure, commercial grows would make up the majority of the market. Those of us that enjoy quality would still grow or buy home-grown. I don’t feel that the law is written well, but it is a step in the right direction as far as public attitude.
