When Jessica Alba heard about a woman in China who was planning on having plastic surgery to reconstruct her face in order to look like her, she was quick to give her input. The woman wanted the surgery after a rough break-up, apparently thinking that if she looked like her ex-boyfriend’s favorite actress, Jessica Alba, he’d want to get back with her. Then Jessica made the statement that
“I think you should never have to change yourself like that. If somebody loves you, they’ll love you no matter what.”
The woman has since decided against the surgery, saying
“I think it’s great that Jessica is so concerned about me. Her words also played an important role in my decision.”
This is a sweet story, I guess, in the sense that Jessica Alba was able to help a girl out and give her some positive advice. It’s just sad that this woman let herself get so torn up about some guy breaking up with her that she was actually planning on undergoing surgery to change the way she looks. This kind of extreme action isn’t unheard of (remember Alexa Joel?), but come on now, ladies, at the end of the day, he’s just a dude that didn’t want to be with you anyway. Have some ice cream, get some therapy if you need it, and let it go.
old news. besides that, it's not unheard of for women in china to get plastic surgery to be more attractive/western looking so that they can get better careers.
I thought this happened a few years ago?
The woman wanted to get the surgery back in January, but she just recently decided not to go through with it because of Jessica Alba's comments.
Good work Jessica Alba, but it's easy to say these things when you look like Jessica Alba…
the woman who was going to get surgery is actually really pretty.
I wanna see what the boyfriend looks like.
