I swear, the best shows on TV never last as long as they should. Ever.
Steve Carell of The Office kinda confirms that this upcoming season will be his last on the show. His contract expires at the end of the season and Carell stated that it’s “probably going to be” his “last year.”
Carell’s plans to leave the show will probably devastate the show’s following. Dwight is a pretty cool character that’s been a super big part of the show, but who the hell is Dwight without Michael Scott?
I wonder if they’ll even keep the show running if Carell officially decides to bail.
I’m bummed.
Is this really a reputable source??? I just have a feeling if Steve Carell were to leave the show “The Office”, we would be hearing from a source that can be trusted, not “Contactmusic.com”. But … thanks for the heads up?
Here’s a link to an audio clip where Carell discusses leaving the show.

Thanks! I also misinterpreted your post, I thought you were saying that he was leaving at the end of this season. But the OfficeTally post makes more sense, he will likely leave at the end of season 7.
*Michael Scott
Say it ain’t so!!! I’ve tried to watch 30 rock, but find it stupid, Parks and Recs is ok, but The Office is my fave. Now I do have to say that Modern Family is in a close second. The characters are as lovable as those on the office. But they aren’t Michael Scott!!
try community!
Community is awesome!
Community is, by far, the funniest show on television right now.
I’ve been a huge Office fan since the beginning, but this season sucks. It sucks ass so hard. It’s like they’re not even trying anymore. Pam and Jim have become insufferable since the pregnancy and the baby. They had a chance with Kathy Bates, but they threw that away. And you can tell they’re trying to work the Gavin (or whatever his name is) character into a full-time gig, which means someone is leaving the show. And let’s face it, none of these actors exactly have hot film careers outside of Carrell who I personally can’t stand unless he’s Michael Scott.
The BBC version is the only one I can watch…
How can you see it for the fog? A Brit snob. That’s fucking funny. Have a piss off you pale, puny cunt.
And furthermore, Tulie, hows about you drown yourself in that fuckin’ shit hole of a timmy river. God you fucking English shites. Or even worse, limey-lovin’ Americans. Don’t you remember that Geo. Washington had to kill those fuckers by the thousands for your freedom. Damnit. Fuck you.
Fuck you, again.

I have issues with the English. Motherfuckers.
Yeah, and with the fucking English language too you stupid fucker!
Agreed Tulie! The BBC version is just fantastic.
Aww man, this makes me so sad but I understand. Aside from Carrell leaving to focus on his career, the show isn’t quite as good as it once was. It’s still one of the funniest shows on TV and certainly makes me laugh harder than that 2 and a Half Men shit, but as time goes on it’s been losing a little bit of the magic. I’d rather they end on a good note rather than drag it on out for 10 seasons that progressively get worse and worse.
Good shows can’t last forever. And I’m pretty sure NBC liked the show because it had a “natural” end…Ricky Gervais picked a paper company because it was obviously becoming obsolete even when the show started. And they’ve been trying hard to keep the company afloat but it’s getting a little ridiculous (printers???).
I’m sure the actors are tired of playing these characters and are probably having a hard time breaking out of the roles to get other gigs. If it does end next season it’s had a FANTASTIC run and I’ll stand in line to buy the box set. =)
I love that show. that sucks
