Since this was my first year cooking any part of Thanksgiving dinner alone, I figured I’d feel less lonely about it if I shared it with everyone on here. So I did the obvious: I videotaped the whole process and uploaded it to YouTube and put it in on my heavily-trafficked celebrity gossip website. I am no longer alone in my cooking.
Plus you guys were really helpful on Twitter and Facebook when I asked for recipe ideas, so I thought I’d show you which recipes I ended up making and how they turned out. I also thought it could be a cool opportunity for you guys to share YOUR favorite Thanksgiving recipes in the comments. I know we’re all looking for yummy ideas and I know we all love to share our favorite dishes.
From our family — Beet, Leo, Josie, Ashley and Max — to yours, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! We wish you lots of love and gratitude and blessings.
Happy Thanksgiving to YOU Beet! :)
It says that it is a private video, and to view I have to accept the sender’s friend request?
:(
Should I be thankful for a video I cannot view? You were suppose to eat the pot brownies later Beet, not first thing in the morning. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Sorry, that’s fixed now! I was using a new video editing software for the first time, and I guess it uploaded it as private by default.
This year I’m making my turkey in a roasting bag for the first time. The recipe I found said to put slices of butter under the skin, stuff with 2 chopped apples and dump 2/3 of a bottle of champagne over the turkey. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper. It sounded marvelous, I’ll let you know if it really is THE WORLD’S BEST TURKEY as proclaimed by the title.

My husband told me 5 times during our feast “It’s really good babe” I was like, “I believed you the 3rd time! Thanks :P ”
I think to be THE WORLD’S BEST TURKEY it should have been a little more moist- but the flavor was spot-on! The gravy that was born as a result of 2/3 of a bottle of champagne was AMAZING. A Winner!
Your food looked yummy Beet. The Brie tarts look delicious, just the thing a 7 months pregnant gal like myself would devour all by herself :)
Silly wabbit..you shouldn’t be drinking alcohol if you’re pregnant
Once the champagne cooks, all of the actual alcohol evaporates…duh..
that’s actually not true. but the longer the alcohol is being cooked, the more alcohol is being evaporated. still, even if you cook something in alcohol for over three hours, there is at least 5% still there.
Oh my gosh you guys seriously?! I ate like 4 oz of Turkey with 3 TBLSP of gravy. Do you think I put my baby at risk? Even if 5% of the alcohol remained (which I doubt after 3 1/3 hours!!) is that not miniscule? My baby is fine, I don’t drink or smoke and I’m not an idiot :P
Here’s a site with some info on cooking with alcohol. At 2 1/2 hours, 5% remains. So I’d imagine there was nothing left after the 3 1/2 hours my bird cooked. So there.

I’d be more worried about the brie than the champagne! Listeria and all…
God how dumb are you guys?! The brie tarts are baked, you do not eat it raw. Go be confused about what pregnant people can and cannot consume somewhere else. Ya’ll are enraging my hormones!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You must have pregnancy brain… you shouldn’t eat any soft cheese cooked at that low of a temp for that short of a time. It needs to be piping hot and 350 for 15 minutes isn’t hot enough to kill bacteria.
Having a small amount of alcohol isn’t the same as having brie. Listeria is serious and can cause still birth. Ask me how I know…
Don’t use pregnancy as an excuse to be a raging bitch…
Pregnant woman CAN have soft cheese as long it is pasterized!
Happy Thanksgiving EvilBeet community!
I apologize if this seems like shameless self-promotion. My partner and I are doing an assignment for a class, we are to make a series of videos on youtube. Please watch and leave a constructive comment!
Please bear with the beginning, it’s a tad boring, but it gets better, I promise!

We all need to give thanks for something this last Thursday in November and I’m thankful that my favorite gossip blogger gives us little videos that highlight her more then ample rack. Rock on Beetster.
So….. like, do you have a boyfriend? ;)
Loved the video!! Very funny, cute and informative. Happy Thanksgiving!!
That was awesome Beet. I’m hungry for a whole ‘nother round of dinner now!

Agreed! I was just about to mention how adorable he looked in his little santa’s outfit =D
Happy Thanksgiving!

So cute and fun! Thanks for sharing! Those brie pastries looked amazing!
Loved the video! It’s very professional. But isn’t Leo’s costume on backwards? LOL
That’s a whole lot of tins, packets. Come on, not really what you can call cooking and ended up looking like greasy stodge! Maybe explain your shape!!
Well, you are just a delight, aren’t you?
That’s not really what you can call English, either. I mean, if we’re getting all technical here.
hahaha. IS that english? I didn’t get it but it sounded rude, you look sweet Beet
hahaha. IS that english? I didn’t get it but it sounded rude, you look sweet Beet
yup, Lettie you sound super boring. I’m thankful to not be eating with you this weekend.
Didn’t you JUST make fun of people dressing up their dogs?
or am i mistaken on that?
No, that was me.
I think the yams look yucky…
Beet, you are a smexy babe, and you should totally get your own cooking show.
P.S. – What were the songs you used in this vid? I need to download them ASAP.
P.P.S. – Happy Belated Thanksgiving!!
Too cute! Loved the vid. I’m sure your momma is proud. Never heard you speak before…like the husky-ish voice.
Okay, I know I am nit-picking, but dude, always wash your hands before cooking! You probably did before you started taping. I’m one of those people that require a good 45 second hot scrubbing of the hands before I cook!
Oh I did!!! And I washed them several times during the process, just usually when the camera was off.
I didn’t catch any of the recipes, however Beet’s cleavage looks delicious.
