Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer in a Billboard.com interview, revealing that Steven Tyler has distanced himself from the group. You can read the whole article here, but it sounds like Tyler may have relapsed.
Relapsed? On what? Alcohol? Drugs (which?)? I didn’t know he was an addict.

After reading that full article, I think his leaving the band is probably the worst possible thing for him. If he’s having problems with addiction, isolating himself even further is only going to make things worse.
And I can just see the depression walloping him right upside the head when his band gets a new singer. In his mind, it’ll be all about how they’ve betrayed him and no one needs him or wants him. But in reality, it’s a situation he created.
The self-loathing of an addict is a difficult downward spiral to break out of.
