Although we’ve already seen snippets here and there, we have to point out this new trailer for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, which highlights Johnny Depp’s no doubt brilliant performance as the Mad Hatter.
Who could play this role better than Depp and what director is more capable of taking Alice’s magical dream world from cartoon to live-action more impressively than Tim Burton? I know I can hardly wait for March 5, 2010 and if these teasers continue, I will likely be writing the remainder of my work here from the inside of a theater lobby so I score the best seats possible on opening night.
i think this has already been posted?
Nope– check it out. The other one posted was the theatrical trailer. This one is new and it features more of Depp’s character.
It was but the link didn’t work for a lot of people because the site that posted it did so a day early by accident and had to take it down when Disney found out about the slip up.
I can’t wait though! I just wish we had been able to see a bit of the caterpillar voiced by Alan Rickman (how great is that casting choice?!). Understandably they probably don’t have a lot of the character done yet since the release is still quite far away.
Yeah. I think I’ve seen this here.
It’s great. . .unless you’re a fan of the source material. And then you’re left wondering why the Mad Hatter is of more importance than Alice.
I’m sure the movie will be fun and I’m definitely going to see it. But I do think it’s sad that a whole generation will grow up thinking that the book is like this movie.
It’s bad enough that most people think the Disney version is accurate.
i agree. alice in wonderland and through the looking-glass are so much more than any movies ever made of them.

Here it is in HD. Pretty pretty.
That looks fantastic!!!
It looks a little disappointing, actually. The 3D could save it.
Kate Beckinsale’s BBC version was SO GOOD. It was cheeky and smart and full of classic British actors. The trailer’s a bit cheesy, but the movie is quite excellent:

Tim Burton Presents: More Moody Gothic Crap starring Jonny Depp & Burton’s Wife again
the cgi looks kinda half assed.
You do realize there’s already been a live-action version of this made? It’s just not all crazy and weird and awesome.
They translated it into film really well that time. We’ll see about this.
I was never really a fan of Alice in Wonderland growing up, but I can’t wait for this. Helena Bonham Carter is my inspiration – I adore every role she takes on. And Depp of course will put on a killer performance. I’m just so fucking excited!
