Alexis Cohen was more famous for her post-Idol audition rant in which she confidently told the camera that she would one day be victorious, passed away in Seaside Heights, New Jersey after being struck by a car.
Details of the collision are still surfacing, but local authorities report that Cohen suffered severe head, chest and abdominal injuries and that they are still trying to find out more about the the accident.
While Alexis was far from one of the most talented Idol wannabes, she did have, as she put it, “chutzpah” and will be remembered and celebrated by reality TV junkies for her extremely memorable audition, which I’ve posted for you above. Audiences will also remember that Cohen was so persistent that after her initial season seven audition, she came back the following year looking and acting slightly tamer, but still failed to make it past Randy, Paula and Simon.
Of course the Interwebs are already buzzing with the news of her death and there have already been YouTube tributes posted, including the one below which we think pays homage to the spunky singer in a way that she would love.
What kind of person runs over someone and leaves them to die alone and hurt in a road? Condolences to Alexis’s family and friends. She never stopped trying to reach her dream and I hope she is at peace. Or will be when her killer is caught and prosecuted. That’s just so evil to do to anything.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t see anywhere in the report the mention of an actual hit-and-run. Seems they just don’t have exact details to release. That doesn’t mean the driver took off.
Either way, condolences to her mother and any other friends and family members. She was definitely a unique person and probably made life very interesting for those around her.
Seaside HEIGHTS. A shore town notorious for partying and drunkenness… I would venture to guess that both she AND the driver of the car that hit her were probably not exactly sober (assuming she was, indeed, hit by a car).
Ouch.. Poor girl.. This actually made me feel bad… God bless the family, and if the killer took off, i certanly hope they find them and put them in jail for a long time..
What a horrible way to die… I feel bad..
And the video, even though it is kind of funny (i mean, she just passed away… Maybe her family and friends wouldn’t really find this funny right now..) It’s actually pretty good.. And after seeing that chick, i definately think she would enjoy watching this video about her..
And those guys are pretty funny, i watched a few more videos on their youtube channel after i watched this one.. I liked them..
I like her tone of voice and I agree with Randy, she should have tried a 60’s-70’s cover band. So sad what happened though. RIP
