Poor Michael Jackson! As we’d assumed originally following his death, it appears the talented singer struggled terribly in a battle against drugs.
Documents obtained by CNN — created in 2004 during preparations for Jackson’s molestation trial — indicate that the singer took between 10 and 40 Xanax pills a night. (Although no one seems to know the dosage of those pills, which is strange. Usually these things are described in milligrams, not “pills.”) The documents show that Michael used his employees’ names, aliases and a variety of out-of-state doctors to amass all these pills. Among the pill bottles found at Neverland Ranch in 2004 was a generic form of Xanax prescribed for Frank Tyson (a Jackson employee) by Dr. Arnold Klein, the rumored bio-dad of Jackson’s kids. A bottle of Prednisone found at the Ranch was also prescribed by Dr. Klein in the name of Peter Midani. Now keep in mind that Dr. Klein is a dermatologist — he’s got no business prescribing Xanax. I understand that acne can be stressful, but, in general, you’d have to take that up with a psychiatrist to get anti-anxiety meds. And no one has any good reason to take 40 Xanax per night. “This dosage is exceedingly high for any human being,” said CNN’s Sanjay Gupta, and that’s almost an understatement.
Authorities are buzzing about possibly considering Jackson’s death a homicide, but they’re waiting on the results of the toxicology tests from the autopsy. “And based on those, we will have an idea of what it is we are dealing (with): are we dealing with a homicide or are we dealing with an accidental overdose?” said LA Police Chief William Bratton.
The only “accidental” part of the overdose would be that those who enabled his addiction just wanted to rake in the cash, not murder their cash cow. Every single one of them should have known better and should be held responsible.
Also, this accusation-circus is freakin’ ridiculous. I hope his kids have a chance at growing up stable with all of this information to look back on.
um FORTY???? that’s beyond ridiculous.
Predinsone is an anti-inflammatory drug. Its used for people with joint pain such as arthritis, it isn’t a pain medication it just reduces swelling. No big deal about that, but if its true that he was actually injecting medicine that is only used during surgeries then its no wonder.
Prednisone is a steroid that can be used to treat lupus, which supposedly he had. People can become resistant to it from overuse and it can cause short-term side-effects including insomnia and euphoria. If you become dependent on it and stop it abruptly, it’s possible to become weak and die. Its a very serious drug.
The only things that amaze me about all this is that he survived for as long as he did, that no doctors have been arrested for malpractice in supplying him before and that his kids weren’t taken away.
Look at Whitney Houston’s case, Anna Nicole Smith’s case. Judy Garland, Rush Limbaugh…blah, blah. I’m guessing that Elizabeth Taylor went a long way down this road.
Why was Winona Ryder arrested for possessing pharmaceutical drugs without a prescription when the rest of this gang gets away with it? Was she not rich and high profile enough?
It’s amazing what doctors and rich addicts get away with in this country.
No wonder the psycho fucker nearly dumped the kid off a balcony. He was stoned out of his freaking mind.
Did he die, did he? When?
No, unfortunately he’s still alive, at least in the minds of every kid whose childhood he ruined by molesting them.
i re-watched that bashir documentary recently, and this time with the mind set that Jackson must have been high as a kite and it totally explained a lot to me about the guy. you can tell he is also extremely sensitive to EVERYTHING yet he has grown up in such a harsh society. i do feel bad for his children because they undoubtedly are going to be exposed to a lot of horrible things said about their father, as well as being thrust into the media like they are right now. they are on at least several of tabloid mag covers right now.
