ANOTHER victory!!!
Maine has become the fifth state in the US to legalize gay marriage.
“In the past, I opposed gay marriage while supporting the idea of civil unions,” Maine Governor John Baldacci said in a statement read in his office. “I have come to believe that this is a question of fairness and of equal protection under the law, and that a civil union is not equal to civil marriage.”
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Separate but equal IS NOT EQUALITY!!!
Way to go, Maine!!!!
America, FUCK YEAH!
Great! Way to go, America!
Now you can get a lobster and meat in your can in the same place!!!
Woohoo! Yeah New England! Soon NH will join you :)
Woohoo! Go Maine!
*does a dorky little victory dance*
I am usually the first to shit on Maine, but today I can honestly say I’m proud to live here.
man, 2009 is fucking awesome
Sweet! Soon Utah will be able to pass bigamy and I can have 8 under age wives! Separate but equal is not equal! Time to end the intolerance towards marriage – marry who you want — and even more than one person! Yeah!
Spoken like a true Christian filled with hatred in your heart.
Joe, that kind of thinking makes me sick. Fortunately, by the time the next generation is running things, that kind of thinking will make most people sick if it doesn’t already.
Wow. Way to go California. Maine is more progressive than us…
not fair. our COURTS also legalized it. It was made illegal by a prop.
That’s true. And we don’t have much longer to wait and see if the courts will overturn the proposition.
*wishing with all her might*
