“When Miley grows up, she’ll learn not to have such a sense of entitlement”

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke in response to the Miley Cyrus radio interview in which she whines about being snubbed by the band.

Wait-celebs outgrow sense of entitlement?  Someone, tell Paris…STAT!

  • I love Thom Yorke and I love Radiohead. Best band, well, of all time IMHO.

And only intelligent celebrities grow out of their sense of entitlement…

That’s why there are a lot of idiotic celebs running around.

    • Hey Sarah, I started following your blog about a week ago. I just went there to check it out & I can’t it says ‘Sorry, the blog you were looking for does not exist. However, the name sarahkickingandscreaming is available to register!”
Just wondering what the deal is?

  • I love Thom Yorke, and I hope he’s right about Miley, but I sort of doubt it.
I don’t think she’ll grow out of it at all.
She might get better at hiding it, though.

  • *shrugs* If Miley wanted to meet them its obviously because she’s a fan and I think most fans who found theirselves in a situation close to the band would’ve wanted to meet them to! Meaning other fans would’ve been sad/complained about being snubbed as well. I think his statement’s pretty condescending, and I’m neither a Radiohead nor Miley fan.

    • Of course any fan would want to me the person who he’s a fan of, but the way that Miley talked about it during that interview is what made it sound like she was entitled to it. She didn’t just say that she was sad about it, but they were questioning his decisions and calling him a jerk, etc… And I don’t think that the average fan would have her people get in touch with their people (or whatever Miley said exactly, but it was along those lines).

She obviously felt like because she was at the Grammys and because she is Miley Cyrus, the new Disney shit, that she can meet whoever she wants, but if a band doesn’t want to meet someone then just move on and don’t try to badmouth them on the radio.

      • By the way, here’s a Miley quote: “I wasn’t going to watch. Stinkin’ Radiohead! I’m gonna ruin them, I’m going to tell everyone.”

Ok. Radiohead’s reaction means that they’re jerks. >_>

      • OK – I totally stand corrected. I could not force myself to listen to the audio, so I didn’t know exactly what she said. I just ran across the quote somewhere else, and you are totally right. Yorke was totally justified, and Miley was being an obnoxious brat. I should not have commented without listening to the whole thing.

  • Miley is immature, most kids are at this age. they just don’t get to whine about it on the radio. She thought that she’d get an apoplgy and a special back-stage welcome. Hope she has a Plan B.

  • I thought Thom Yorke came off a little pretentious here; she’s 16… so he’s a big ‘cult’ star and didn’t want to the new pop princess. He showed her. Used to love their stuff; then went too deep… Actually like his brother Andy’s band “Unbelievable Truth” much more. little more accessible lyrically. Ease up on Miley; only 16… the train wreck is coming; pregnancy, coke, DWI, something big.. give it time!
