Total hottie Bristol Palin sat down with Greta Van Susteren on Monday night to do her first interview since giving birth to her son, Tripp. Bristol, who got knocked up when she had pre-marital sex, looks, acts, and sounds very much like the teenager that she is. I mean, she seems like a sweet girl, but she’s not especially poised or bright or articulate or capable of interacting effectively with an interviewer — which stands in stark contrast to Chelsea Clinton or Meghan McCain at that age. It’s clear that she was not raised to be a politician’s daughter in the way those girls were. Oh, and she also says that abstinence before marriage is “not realistic.” Ha!
Here’s what’s funny/awesome: Bristol didn’t tell her mom, Sarah Palin, that she was doing this interview until just an hour before. (She’s newly 18, so she can do that now.) They were obviously not expecting Sarah to show up, but, sure enough, Sarah cut short some other activity to be right fucking there when that baby was brought out. You can tell both Greta and Bristol are surprised and kind of annoyed, and Sarah was obviously like “WE MUST SPIN THIS SO MY DAUGHTER DOESN’T RUIN EVERYTHING AGAIN!!” It’s a glorious and uncomfortable trainwreck. That video is here:
Thank you to Busy Bee Blogger for the link!
Wow… and she’s 18? I don’t want to sound like I’m boasting but I stopped sounding like this when I was 13. Where are the PR reps now? Oh right, minding Britney..
There’s a youtube link here if its being fussy like it is for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xaxw7sVfVg4
I think the girl is doing alright. Don’t be so hard on her! Think about the resources she had available… and the household she was raised in, HAH!
And I wonder why Bristol doesn’t have the same ridiculous accent!
For me it seems really odd that she would name the kid using the same idiotic naming scheme that her mother used. Very suspicious.
Personally I think her dad is the father of the baby.
hahahaha
what naming scheme?
Useless cunt playing elitist. And yes, incest is at home in the PALIN family…
Since you bring up cunts, have you yet to ponder the possibility of Mary Robinson actually being the momma and not the nana to Sasha and Malia? Gasp! Why not? Baseless. Ignorant. Bored-ass-hell-mother-fuckers. Gross comments warrant gross responses, and I am ashamed to jump on this shit-filled bandwagon.
Woohoo!! Grr!
wow. that is one ugly baby.
So it is not the Government’s role to help out in situations such as these, says Sarah Palin. But Bristol is so lucky to have a large family to help out, she’s oh so blessed. Ok, so those that aren’t as blessed to have support of family…what about them?? I never did hear an answer to that…just that it wasn’t governments role. Just let them go live on the streets with their babies, cuz if Sarah Palin were in charge there would be no abortions….no social programs and no health care unless you could afford it.
Oh ! Now I see how the right wing works….screw everyone who isn’t me….I see
I dislike this woman’s politics but the accusations of incest are crude and baseless. Stick to the facts people, there are plenty of them to criticize….no need to go making stuff up.
– Everyone was shocked when Sara Palin gave birth to Trig. It was reported people didn’t even know she was pregnant. She didn’t show.
– Many people believe that Trig isn’t Sara’s child. 3 days after popping him out she was back at work.
– Track and Trig. The daughter calls her kid Tripp. Give me a break.
Sorry, Sarah not Sara. Please don’t have me shot from a helicopter Mrs Palin.
wow. worst interview in the world
partly because the interviewer is TERRIBLE. i thought they are taught not to stumble over their words
for an 18 year old i think she did ok …. but argggggghhhhhhhh that greta is an awful interviewer !!!!!!!!
So Bristol is going to be an advocate, in Mrs. Palin’s words? For what – premarital sex and teen pregnancy? Eeesh. And the whole overbearing mom morphing into politician spinning silken words of damage control. I thought MY mom was bad.
Sarah Palin irks me simply on visual contact. Why is it her family was considered off limits during the campaign, but now we must be raped with interviews and magazine covers of post-pregnant Bristol. One thing for sure, not many pregnant teens get a head start with a multi-million magazine deal.

Okay last try at submitting this comment…

LOL…okay sorry for raping all your eyes with my multiple post.
Bristol is one lucky girl. She has a strong mother and huge support system in her family. Bristol mentioned wanting to advocate “waiting,” although she admits refraining from getting your teenage bang-on is like asking (some) Beet followers to refrain from posting comments about incest and baby name quality.
> “She has a strong mother and huge support system in her family”
That has to be the funniest shit I have read on the Beet. You are a master of sarcasm, sir. I applaud you.
That whole thing was so awkward! Like, an awkward turtle so big it takes the hands of everyone in the room to replicate…
Yeah abstinence before marriage is not realistic.
Well thats a load.
Here I sit, almost 19 still a virgin, waiting for marriage.
I’ve had multiple boyfriends, and no matter how many times they’ve asked I never had sex with any of them.
So is she going to promote having sex at a young age, and getting pregnant?
I think there’s enough of that going around already.
I agree, just because its “not realistic” for her doesn’t mean it isn’t for others!
i laughed my ass off when greta says “i thought it would be the other grandmother” and sarah says “oh, she’s out in the hall”. of course sarah probably tied her to a radiator so she could swoop in with the kid and absorb some of her daughter’s limelight. that was awesome.
“It’s like” .. “and it’s like”
Who talks like that? At 18?
Bristol IS Sarah Palin. Seriously, she gives just as good an interview. What’s it like, “Awesome.” You can not expect her to give an interview on the same level as Chelsea because even Sarah isn’t on Chelsea’s level.
this is so ridiculous and painful to watch…thank god this woman isn’t our vice president…i’m not a religious girl but that right there is something worth thanking god for.
Beet: I love your description of the interview “but she’s not especially poised or bright or articulate or capable of interacting effectively with an interviewer”. Like mother, like daughter wouldn’t you say?
I thought Bristol was kind of sweet. Honestly, she just gained huge respect points in my book for having the balls (so to speak) to schedule an interview without her mother’s say-so. Sarah was obviously pissed …
I just threw up in my mouth. That woman makes my skin CRAWL.
“I take care of him all the time. The only time I don’t take care of him is when I’m at school.” Yeah, then you don’t take care of him all the time.
Okay, since when is not having sex as a 17 year old hard? As if you’ll die if you’re not having sex your junior year of high school. Well, I’m glad you fufilled your critical needs, Bristol… enjoy being tied down for the next 18+ years… I’m gonna go be a 19 year old with zero responsibility now.
did greta have a stroke? why does she only talk out of one side of her mouth?
I came away from watching this not understanding at all what this girl’s views on teen pregnancy and teen sex are. everyone should wait ten years…to have sex or to have a baby? I guess she means to have a baby, but obviously no teen is PLANNING to get pregnant so how can they necessarily wait if it’s not intentional?
“I hope that people learn from my story and just like, I don’t know, prevent teen pregnancy I guess.”
Hmm. How is anyone supposed to learn from her story when she doesn’t stress the importance of contraception OR abstinence, and she doesn’t really talk about how hard it is?
“If it can happen to Bristol, it can happen to anyone.” Sarah referenced her athletic ability and study skills there as proof to back that up. They make it sound like she has a disease or an injury or something. That family is acting as if Bristol’s actions played no part in this baby. She didn’t want to go into details, but chances are, she didn’t use protection because she was not raised to believe she would need protection because she would not be having sex before marriage. Instead, she did have sex before marriage because for her it wasn’t realistic not to (and I understand and agree that is realistic of a lot of people) and she didn’t use protection because she wasn’t realistically educated about its relevance.
I thought she came off quite well, just a normal girl dealing with life. She might not be the brightest young woman out there but I see much worse from young mothers day after day.
As far as Gramma Palin, it’s easy to see why her daughter didn’t tell her about the interview. Real classy to barge into your daughters interview and then steal it from her.
A friend of mine mentioned during the campaign that his biggest gripe with Palin is that she seemed to have a sense of narcissistic entitlement. Watching her steal the interview, I finally understand EXACTLY what he meant.
I have a 14 year old sister and this is the type of interview I’d expect from her…not an 18 year old. I understand that she was probably very nervous, but she is also very, very immature. But I do give her props on scheduling the interview w/o her mom.
I also agree that waiting for marriage is a bit unrealistic, but parent’s need to talk to their kids, have an open relationship and make sure they go out into the world with the knowledge of safe sex to prevent not only teen pregnancy, but also STDs.
This girl seems ok.
Her speaking needs a little work.
she sounds like paris hilton.
“and she didn’t use protection because she wasn’t realistically educated about its relevance.”
I have to disagree with this a little bit. There is a thing called sex education in school and anyone who doesn’t live under a rock knows what condoms are, how they work, and why they’re important. not just for contraception, but for the protection of stds. I don’t really remember my mom or my dad ever sitting down with me and talking about the importance of birth control, yet when I first became sexually active I used both condoms AND the birth control pill because I have half a brain in my head and did NOT want to become pregnant. I’m sure her boyfriend knew enough to use a condom and simply CHOSE not to. It’s the same ignorant irresponsibility of most of the teenagers who get pregnant or get a girl pregnant. They don’t think it will happen to them. All you have to do these days is pick up a seventeen magazine to know that birth control is important.
I’d forgotten about all this…thank you God Sarah Palin is far far away from our White House!
