Last Monday, when news about the octuplets’ birth broke, TLC’s new episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 brought in 3.7 million viewers.

This is a huge number for a cable reality show, and it was up 76% over the previous week.

Looks like the birth of the octuplets just got people re-interested in Kate and her clan!

  • Did you see there new house? They have to yell over and over, for someone to find them! I love it. They also totally deserve it.

      • They deserve the fact that if a kid falls or hurts themselves, they won’t know where they are in or outside the house to help them??? I hope nothing like that happens, but I’m sure it will.

  • The kids are adorable, of course. Kate grates on my nerves after half an hour – no idea how Jon can stand it.

    • SRY, BUT I AM LEARNING TO ALMOST HATE KATE, AND CANT STAND MATTY SAD TO SAY. KATE HAS USED FRIENDS, RELATIVES, AND ANYONE ELSE SHE COULD. SHE HAS NEVER GIVEN THE TV SHOW CREDIT FOR WHAT HER FAMILY HAS TODAY. INCLUDING TRIPS, HOUSE, MONEY, ANYTHING U NAME IT. SHE IS A NASTY PERSON RAISING A NASTY MADDY. I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER JOHN CAN DEAL WITH THIS. THE SAD PART IS WHEN THE KIDS GET OLDER AND WATCH THESE EPOSODES. I KNOW OF PEOPLE THAT WONT LET THEIR KIDS WATCH THIS ANY MORE AS WITH TIME PASSING KATE IS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. I CAN UNDERSTAND NOW WHY THERE IS NO FAMILY AROUND BECAUSE OF HER IM SURE.

      I NEVER IN MY LIFE THOUGHT THAT A WOMAN ON A TV SHOW WOULD BOTHER ME LIKE THIS. I HOPE SHE LOSES IT ALL, AFTER THE WAY SHE HAS TREATED PEOPLE WHO HAVE HELPED.

      • I agree with everything you’ve said. She has a nasty mouth and treats Jon like a moron. How gullible are the people who send her and the children gifts etc. These people would be better off sendind these things who deserve and need them.

      • OMG, you hit the nail right on the head. I feel exactly the same way that you do. I have watched this show from the beginning and Kate has definitely gotten worse. I can’t stand watching it anymore because of how bad she’s gotten. No way could I ever stay with someone like that. If she is that nasty and rude in front of a camera, I can only imagine what their life is like when no one is around to see/hear. She is such an unhappy witch….Jon, if you ever read these blogs…. go out and find someone who will love you and accept you for the way that you are and NOT try to constantly change you. Oh gosh she annoys me. She treats people like crap on the show.

      • Thats exactly what i’ve been wondering. if Kate treats jon that bad in front of the cameras, whats it like for jon and for that matters the kids too. I’ve seen kate slap Jon on the head. I wanted to give her head a shake. She doesn’t know how fortunate she is to have a loving husband like Jon. Kate nit picks about everything under the sun. It must be so stressful for the entire family. They need prayer.

      • Also, just wanted to mention that you never see the same nanny for more than a few episodes. Hmmmmm…I wonder what has happened to all of them??? Kate seems to start out liking them in the beginning and then something happens…..and on the next show they are GONE!

        she actually does time and time again. this is partly why they wanted to continue filming the show bc of all of the opportunities it has given her fam.

      • Tell me, what would you do if you wanted/needed to “get out of Dodge” for any amout of time? Me? I’d beg, borrow, plead, do ANYTHING to have someone watch my kids so I could go get my hair cut, nails done, or anything that made me want to be around adults!!! Listening to little people talk or jibber jabber all day can really get to a person & you really NEED to converse w/an adult! And, NONE of my friends would EVER, NEVER have taken a PENNY when they watched my kids, along w/their own or otherwise, BECAUSE THEY ARE MY FRIENDS!!! That’s what friends do for each other! And you know what? It’s too bad that Jodi thought she should have been PAID for watching her own neices & nephews, for crying out loud! That’s FAMILY!!!!! If any member of my family EVER expected to be paid, well, that’d be a first! We did things for each other in other ways & we LOVE each other!!!! Get a grip people!! Kate is running the equivalent of a COMPANY & I truly don’t know how she has done what she has done & it all works is what amazes me (& my husband of 33 years). I am just like Kate to some degree & my husband a lot like Jon but I can understand, to some degree, where Kate is coming from. I just wish I had some of her skills when our girls were young! So, stuff that in your gum & chew on it!!! Tada!!

    • You know, some of them did a bit when they were younger (this is an old picture). I think it’s just the mixing of Korean and European features, as Koreans have much wider set eyes.

  • OK. I hate them. Are you guys crazy? These parents are exploiting their children for money. And Kate is a estrogen crazy nasty person. Do you guys know that they have absolutely no relationship with the grandparents. And Kate’s sister has been marginalized because Kate has to have absolute control over everything and everyone. Why would they not have a relationship with both sets of grandparents? Could it be that someone voiced an opinion regarding the commercialization of these children? Because of Kate and her broods example some woman with obvious mental health problems decided to breed herself some revenue producing offspring. Good job! These people should be ashamed of themselves parading their poor extremely young children around for money. Only in America.

  • i think people need to leave them alone. this was their choice and i think they knew what they were doing. put yourself in their shoes, all they wanted to do is have the ability to video their kids. people always want to hate on God’s childrens………jon and kate should be praised on the values and their ability to do what they do . after all, they are just parents trying to provide the best that they can for their kids. as far as the grandparents, we dont know the story behind that, so quit judging. all of you that put negative comments on here are just jealous because you’re not in their shoes and dont have what they have…..so just shut up….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • It may have been the parents’ choice to be on television, but did the kids get a say? Imagine having to grow up with cameras always around, people following you wherever you go, and friends asking if your mom is really as crazy as she seems to be on TV.

      I don’t know about you, but I’d pass, thank you.

  • Yeah, great more freakazoids tuning in the Crazy Kate half hour. If being a reality TV side show doesn’t fuck the kids up for sure that creature that birthed them will. Now that we’ve had one woman decide to take Kate’s path to millions when does the next one appear on the news and can she top 8?
    Reading the comments that girls are going to get black market fertility drugs to emulate Kate and octopussy is just what I needed to read this morning. It’s like the pact deal at the MA school when that Spears girl got preggers and half the girls at that school thought it a grand plan. America the land of the brain trusts.

  • I’ve never seen this show but hear alot about it on this blog, and just in general. I’m real curious what it is about Kate that makes people call her crazy, OCD, control freak etc. Just looking for a breif lowdown on her as I can’t watch on the day they are on.

  • I think people wanted to see the ridiculous 1.5 million dollar mansion they’ve been “needing” for so long.

  • I JUST LOOOOVE ALEXIS!!!! AND KATE PISSES ME OFF BECAUSE IT’S SOOOO OBIVIOUS THAT HANNAH IS HER FAVORITE!!!! KATE NEVER HOLDS ANY OF THE OTHER KIDS, SHE MAY OCCASIONALLY PICK LEAH UP EVERY EPISODE OR SO. BUT NOW HANNAH HAS TO HAVE HER OWN ROOM? BECAUSE SHE HAS MIGRAINES? YEA OOKKK

  • I stopped watching the show as soon as I saw Kate had some mental problems and Jon would enable her. Her abuse was outrageous and exploiting the the children is abusive. It’s not about the kids anymore, it’s all about Kate and money. They have no jobs but yet they take extragavant vacations every month, hair transplants, spas, tummy tucks, new multi-million dollar home, donations from strangers and all on the backs of these children. They are pimping their own children which is sick. TLC, you are a part of this ongoing child abuse.

    • Kate not only got a tummy-tuck gratis but had the nerve to ask for her breasts to be lifted. Thank goodness the doctor turned her down. I agree that all of this is child abuse.

  • I found it extremely sad that the children were never allowed to play in the grassy backyard. They were forced to play in the garage or driveway. The reason being is that Kate did not want the kids to get dirty…how sick is that? I also remember the time they went to a bakery to decorate cupcakes, donated of course. Kate would not let the kids eat the cupcakes they decorated because she did not want them to get dirty, psychotic behavior! Another time, they went and had ice cream, in cups of course as cones may cause them to get dirty, and some of the kids wanted to play on the grass….she went nuts. This is a woman who should have NEVER had children. You can already notice the children are showing signs of the mental abuse they have had to endure. CPS should look into this dysfunctional family.

  • I have concerns for the children and the price they are paying for their parent’s “FAME AND FORTUNE”. TV shows that involve children should be carefully scrutinized to ensure the children are indeed being well cared for, physically and emotionally. Many child stars grew up having severe emotional problems. Children should not be exploited for their parent’s financial gain.

  • The fact that so many think that they “deserve” this house is rediculous!I grew up in a large family–9 children. We lived in a house with only one bathroom, the four of us youngest kids doubled up in twin beds (with our heads at the end and our feet to the middle), my 3 older sisters all slept in a full size bed together, and my two older brothers each had their own bed. We were financially poor, hand me downs were our only wardrobe choices, and dirt was main toy (made lots of mud pies). And we were happy and for the most part, healthy. I don’t understand why they “deserve” the house they just moved into, my mom would have loved to have had the house they moved out of. Greed will be the downfall of the future of America, and we are seeing it now with the economy the way it is. The octuplet mom should be facing the wrath of cps for the older 6 kids living conditions, let alone bringing the other 8 into that situation.

  • I am so happy to see that there are people who see the show the way I see it! I used to really like it in the beginning but now……Wow, things have really changed! Kate isnT even a likable bitch. Her rantings are totally disgusting. What pisses me off are all the freebies and her expectations of them. Another thing, why are people asking her for expert opinions of anything? Another observation, while the little girls speak well and seem to have decent vocabularies, the boys seem developmentally backward. Honestly , my 2/12 yr. grandson speaks a lot clearer and has a much bigger vocab. Maybe it’s because of her blatant disregard of them over the years. Jon doesn’t bother me too much except for the fact that he doesn’t stand up for what’s right for his kids.

  • Ok, so I have been reading alot of these postings and I am confused…why are we feeling sorry for Jon? I agree Kate can be controllingbut how can you not be??? I’m sure she is stressed and one day will look back and wish she didn’t come off like that but—do you have idea what you would be like with 8 kids? I have one and I can only symapthize because there are days I feel overwhelmed as well. We are in no position to judge. As far as them exploiting their children…I think we all can agree that they are taking advantage of an opportunity to be able to support their family. Is it worse than working your whole life for a company who give a crap less about you or your family that will dispose of you when needed like garbage? At least she gets to be home with her children and doesn’t have to worry about financial woes on top of the immense burden of raising these beautiful children. Poor Jon…I’m sorry but they should both be treated equal and there is no space for Poor Jon sympathies…they have a wonderful family and opportunity and they should all be thankful that they are capable of raising and providing for all of them. I have been hearing things about Jon wanting a divorce??? Wow—it’s not Kate being too controlling—if that were the case they could work on that—I think he is bailing…and blaming her…but it’s just my opinion…

  • honestly, you are all being way too judgemental. if i had 8 kids, i would prefer they dont play in the grass, imagine changing 8 kids once they come in from playing, all that laundry, all those baths. thats insane! my mother is a neat freak, i wasnt allowed to have a dog or play with paint or playdough, because of that but that didnt scar me, i turned out just fine. i am a nursery school teacher and i know how stressful it can be. so unless you all have 8 kids, i wouldnt talk.as for the house, i must agree, i dont think they deserve it any more than someone else, they should not get special treatment because having 8 children

  • I feel their rating went up because they are a cute family and you can’t help but love them. It has nothing to do with thee other babies.
    We talk about the show at my work everyweek and with my customers. It might be by the word of mouth ,that more people are watching. I am praying the show goes on but the pressure and that has been dense betwwen them. It is hard enough raising 8 kids let alone their whole lives are being taped. I would have had a nervous breakdown. I feel they done real well and if people would quit the bad comments they just might get everything worked out. I love all of them and feel jon and kate have to be both ready to work together.

  • Oh please…when will this show end and when will those parents stop whori** out their kids for money? Kate is a completely disgustiing mother and all she sees is dollar signs when she looks at the kids. Kate and the husband are too stupid to have actual jobs. These kids will all be in therapy in ten more years and a divorce is obvious. Who could live with that bitch forever???? Run Jon!

  • I USED TO LOOK UP TO JON AND KATE THEY WERE SO MUCH LIKE MY PARENTS.MY PARENTS DIED WHEN I WAS 8.OR SO I THOOUGH.NOW KATE IS CHEATING ON JON.AND JON IS CHEATING ON KATE.THEY LOVE THEIR KIDS BUT NOT THEMSELVES.YOU HAVE TO LOVE YOURSELF TO LOVE SOMEONE ELSE.QWHAT HAPPENED TO THEM.THEY BOTH DENIE THEIR AFFIARS .SO……ARE THEY REALLY CHEATING OR JUST WANT MORE ATTENTION.

  • I feel sorry for little Mady. She is a very pretty child who just doesn’t get any attention. I watched an episode where the children were playing “dress-up” one evening. Kate was giving all her attention to the little girls. Mady climbed up onto the sofa where Kate was sitting and placed her head on Kate’s shoulder. Kate ignored her and continued talking to Hannah. Mady left. Next, she went to Jon and cried. He gave her very little attention,but more than Kate. When Mady left Jon, He made a stupid, mocking face at Mady behind her back!!! Don’t these parents remember that the kids frequently watch episodes of these shows? Where are the grandparents? They are desparately needed more now than ever. The twins need them. These two girls are never happy. Often, they are frowning in the pictures and during the episodes. Help, Help, Help !!! Anyone, Please, Please Please.!!!

    They are sick, sick people, how the hell they keep these kids is beyond any thing I have ever believed in, talk about two people not having a clue about how to show love or take care of kids, well J&K are them, Kate has never taken care of the kids by her self, not until they were old enough to care mostly for them selves, she has had help from the day they were born.
    the reason the grand parents are not around is because Kate did not want them to see her wicked ways, her true colors, but all of the world is seeing it now.
