Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Rough Life!

90121X2

Here’s a first look at the home Brangelina will be renting on Long Island while she films Edwin A. Salt.

It’s a 48-acre waterfront estate named Sassafras in the Lloyd Neck harbor region of Long Island’s North Shore. The couple will be renting the property through mid-summer while Jolie shoots. The main house is 22,000 square feet, and the Tudor-inspired property has two helipads, a private dock, and an 11-bedroom staff house. The mansion has been on the market for an asking price of $60M.

An 11-bedroom staff house!

What could they possibly need all that space for?

What could anyone possibly need all that space for?

I could start a small university out of that building! Hell, we may as well just move the United Nations there!

  • it seems inconsistent to care (allegedly) soooo much about homeless, starving children around the world and then not just live in a nice house in a gated community, but an f’ing $60 million dollar xanadu.

you can’t care that much about the suffering of others and then live every moment like royalty. you would feel too guilty if it were real. it’s like drive a mercedes fine, live in a gated community, nothing wrong with that. but this over the top level of wealth, and trying to get the PR, it just doesn’t work that way.

    • To musicstudent:
Your resentment and wealth envy is blatantly typical of the knee-jerk, emotion driven starry-eyed drones who elected Barak Obama. Check your facts. How many celebrities have done (or spent) anything CLOSE to AJ and BP when it comes to helping the unfortunate? When you consider that they don’t HAVE to give a red CENT, I’m much more impressed with them than most of those plastic A-listers talking the talk. I’m no big fan of Jolie’s, but if she’s done whatever it takes to legally acquire the wealth and notoriety you obviously despise, she (they) have the right to live wherever they want, for as long as they want, and drive Hummers every day if they choose. Who are you to say how much is enough? How many people could’ve benefited from the $120 million spent on inauguration parties for your idol Obambi on Tuesday night? I’m sure you were fine with that. (BTW, that sum is about 3 times what Bush spent in ’04 and got blasted by the mainstream media for it). Well, with this country in a mediocrity-driven tailspin, maybe they’ll pass a law that will dictate how much money one should be allowed to make, and how much they must donate to charity. Will you be in line with your hand out?

      • well i’m checking your facts and wow, so many assumptions; i love wealth, and do quite well thank you, and who said i like obama? 2 assumptions there. i don’t despise wealth and notoriety at all, wrong again. be crazy wealthy and famous, but you can’t build your life on oh i care about the dying children, then live in a $60 million dollar house.

funny how you turn this political because you’re clearly pissed about obama. i don’t want big government and dont want and wont take a handout, again your comments having nothing to do with what i wrote. man you’re angry. i said there is no balance, you can’t care so much about dying kids and then be ok living the other 360 days a year living like an african dictator.

and didn’t obama’s supporters pay for his inauguration, unlike forcing taxpayers to have no choice and pay for bush’s?

  • “Sassafras”?

You know you have too much money when you name your house after a $2 tranny hooker.

I live in a 48 foot retention-pond-front estate named “Housing and Urban Development”

  • Their French Chateau has 35 rooms so 11 doesn’t seem that extraordinary. I’m not a huge fan of but give them a break. They are stalked by the press day and night and they have to pay for some privacy. They don’t get to live next door to us – and you don’t want them to with everything that surrounds them. They give and do a lot for those in need and they have a good life as well. Isn’t that the goal? Have a good life and give back to others. Everyone should just quit being haters.

    • No, no, that’s an 11 bedroom staff house! Doesn’t say how many rooms the main house has. And here’s an idea Angelina-try being a stay-at-home mom for your kids for just a little while. Would that kill you?

      • Possibly. Staying at home to raise children is not for everyone. As much as I love, adore, and cherish my son, I only lasted 6 months staying home. I need the sense of accomplishment in my life that comes from excelling at a career. I don’t think that is anything to frown upon.

    • i don’t begrudge them their lifestyle, but maybe if they stopped selling “intimate photos” of their family and stopped giving out detail after detail of their private lives they wouldn’t be as “stalked by the press”. it is possible to be famous and not be in the news 24/7. look at johnny depp: very famous and yet i can’t remeber the last time i saw a photo of his wife breastfeeding. probably because he didn’t sell any to W magazine. i’m not a hater – brad & angie can do what they want but they can’t have it both ways.

  • It is a beautiful house. Joile-Pitt have worked hard for this mansion. opportunity.
It inspires me to work harder just to reap the benefit of such a palace. My niece would love a summer there.

  • I normally do not read about the “gossip” but just sohapened to be looking for something else when I came across this. I don’t understand why two “adults” feel the need to consistently have the biggest and best which contradicts what they profess about New Orleans, homeless children, etc.

They need to get down off of their swinging star and get grounded. I don’t know which one is the prima donna, I have to have the best but I have my thoughts on it.

I don’t like to be negative but they are not the supercouple they feel they are……..they are the odd couple. Go Jen

  • If I had tonnes of money, I would be getting big ol houses as well. I would be buying/renting the craziest shit. Just because I could. I can see how it makes them look kinda hypocritical though.

However, sometimes, I start having these deep thoughts on how movie stars and professional athletes can make insane amounts of money for being entertainers and then we have doctors, policemen and firefighters saving lives, and researchers out there finding cures who don’t make anywhere close to celebs salaries. Sometimes I wonder where our priorities lie.

  • I went to a small college on Long Island that was roughly the size of that house, if not smaller. So go for it, Beet.
