Today's Evil Beet Gossip

R.I.P.

'50s pin-up gal Bettie Page died in Los Angeles today at the age of 85. Bettie was put on life support last week after suffering a heart attack in Los Angeles and never regained consciousness, said her agent, Mark Roesler. He said he and Page's family agreed to remove life support. Before the heart attack, Page had been hospitalized for three weeks with pneumonia. Bettie posed for thousands of sexual and/or nude photographs in the '50s, when such modeling was most definitely not done in the ...

Demi Lovato’s Rep Is Lying

In response to these pics of Demi Lovato sporting what look to be self-inflicted scars on her wrist, her rep has issued a statement: "Demi was wearing gummy bracelets just prior to her appearance on the red carpet and, because of how tight they were, they left indentations on her wrist." And everyone's just printing this statement like it's not obviously a bunch of complete and total bullshit. I mean, COME ON. Yes, sometimes really tight bracelets leave indentations, but they don't look a...

HA! I CALLED IT!

How many times have I said that Kate Walsh and her stupid quickie husband wouldn't last a year? Okay, I was wrong. They lasted just over a year. Why must Hollywood be so predictable? Kate's husband, Alex Young, petitioned for divorce in November, citing irreconcilable differences. Thank God. I know this is horrible to say, but Kate Walsh's life was seeming a little too fairytale there for my tastes. But I wonder why it was the hubby filing for divorce. I thought for sure she'd dum...

The Dangers of Live Theater

This is very scary!!
An actor portraying a suicide bid in an Austrian play accidentally slashed his own throat on-stage following a prop mix-up. Daniel Hoevels, 30, collapsed with blood pouring from his neck after using a real blade instead of the blunt stage knife. He was taken to the hospital after the dramatic scene at Vienna's Burgtheater. The audience had been raptured, unaware the actor was facing his own demise for real. But when he failed to greet their applause for the show's spectacular special effects with a bow they separated fact from fiction. Police are now investigating whether the mix-up was murderous. Officers have refused to rule out the possibility that a jealous rival may have switched the blades. The knife had been bought at a local store and police are asking if props staff forgot to blunt the blade for the performance of Friedrich Schiller's play Mary Stuart, about Mary Queen of Scots. "The knife even still had the price tag on it," said a police investigator. The theater's props manager has been quizzed by police about the weapon, Austrian daily Osterreich reported. The actor recovered after emergency treatment and even appeared on stage the next night with a bandage around his neck. "If Hoevels had hit an artery or cut only slightly deeper, he would have died on stage," a doctor said.
Wow. If this really was an attempted murder, I am so excited to see the Lifetime movie that gets made from it. Thanks Jamie! />This is very scary!! Catching Up on the Pregnancy Rumors

At this point, everyone in Hollywood is always pregnant all of the time. I'm so tired of writing about people being supposedly pregnant because they put on a couple of pounds. But here's the latest: Mariah Carey is supposedly pregnant with Nick Cannon's kid, because she canceled plans for a tour. Rumor has it that she'd already hired costume designers and dancers, who were devastated to be laid off in this economy. Abbie Cornish is rumored to be pregnant with Ryan Phillippe's kiddo, bec...
