The Puppy Cam Puppies Are Growing Up!

Broadcasting Live with Ustream.TV

Oh noes!

If you, like me, have followed every last sigh and struggle of the six Shiba Inus on Puppy Cam — found at the bottom of Evil Beet’s sidebar, just above the new Britney Spears album (IN STORES TODAY!!!) — you will be devastated to hear that the puppies are going to be headed off to their forever homes soon. From a statement from their foster parents:

For those of you who were out and about for the US Thanksgiving holiday we just wanted to update that the “kids” are doing really good with socialization. We took them out to a few places and had a number of people (kids included) come over to see how the pups would react. They all did wonderful.

We did our second clipping of the pups nails (first time wasn’t on camera) but we forgot to hit the “Record” button to capture it. Sorry! We’ll be weighing the pups when they turn 8 weeks old on Tuesday (Dec 2nd).

The dreaded warning… this coming weekend (Dec 6-7th) will be when the first couple of pups will be heading off to their new homes. Yes, it has been and will continue to be really hard for us to let each pup go but we’re confident that they are going to extremely loving and caring homes.

We’ll be arranging at least a yearly meet-up (if not more) with the pups that will be going to homes in California. We’ll have to post a link to where everyone can go to get updates, progress and pictures on the litter as they grow.

SO SAD!

I will miss my little puppies. There are so many Puppy Cam copy-cat sites now, but THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER PUPPY CAM IN MY HEART. It’s like when Roseanne gave us Sarah Chalke as New Becky. WE WERE NOT FOOLED. There is only ONE Puppy Cam, and it is ending, and I am SO SAD about it.

It makes me even sadder because I think about when I went to adopt Leo he was living at the shelter with his five brothers and sisters, and they were all playing together and were soooo ridiculously cute, and I just picked him up and took him home with me and he never got to see them again. I ruined Leo’s Puppy Cam! I hope he can forgive me.

Above find a really cute clip of my puppies playing, for those of you who are all like “They’re never being cute when I check it!”

Thanks Jamie!

  • Oh no! That is indeed SO SAD! My friends and I have named the puppies, and watch them every day. :( :( :(

  • What kind of horrible, hard-hearted person am I that I think this is so ridiculous? I seriously can’t even watch short clips of this because it bores me to tears.

I’m not sure what is missing in my brain that doesn’t allow me to enjoy this, but I dare say I am glad they will be moving on.

  • they are eating each other’s faces right now. i would love to have one of these puppies.

and donkey, this post is almost directed right at you! you are so special, i’m jealous.

  • my babies are leaving me! i have faithfully watched these guys for weeks now…and they are leaving this weekend…though the owners are keeping one….so it won’t be a total cry fest for me

  • THAT ITS A REALLY SAD NEWS, I FELL IN LOVE WITH ALL OF THEM I’LL MISS THEM A LOT, I ALWAYS CHECK TO SEE HOW THEY WHERE DOING, BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO GET ANOTHER PUPPY CAM.

  • They are beautiful and adorable, and they make my heart melt, but they should not exist. Breeders have a lot to answer for. We should not be breeding $1000 puppies when there are hundreds of thousands of puppies and kittens being euthanized each year because they cannot find a home.

Before you spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on an inbred, pedigree dog or cat, have a look at your local shelter.

  • Moving on is what these little furballs were born to do. They were a pack as pups, but as they become grown dogs, they will have a real life. A dog is not really a dog until he or she has a human person that he can form an attachment with. If you visit shelters, look in the eyes of the dogs. They lack life, but when they are adopted, and have a human, those eyes suddenly transform into beacons of admiration and love for that person.
