I’m not quite done being devastated that Dirt was canceled (that show was genius, people!!! GENIUS!!!), but at least Courteney Cox is moving on — she’s signed on to do a pilot of a show called Cougar Town. Rowr.
ABC has ordered a comedy pilot in which the former “Friends” star will play an attractive newly single 40-year-old mom with a 17-year-old son. It comes from “Scrubs” creator Bill Lawrence.
“Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free,” said Lawrence, who first worked with Cox when he was a writer on “Friends.” “People don’t do the reality of it, and there is a real comedy area about a woman who is talking about Botox, about having sex with the lights on and how her body is changing.”
This is the kind of show that could either be unbelievably awesome or totally tragic. I like Courteney a lot, and I hope it does well.
She is so gorgeous… gah!!! I wish I looked like her.
Sounds like a flop. Another Cashmere Mafia in the making.
Hopefully not. I root for her.
so did they hire her because she looks old for forty in comparison to what forty year olds look like on TV? This chick needs to stay out of the sun, hwe skin looks like shit
I loooooved Dirt.
I agree- an old looking 40
Don’t care for Ms Cox, in fact I just never really cared for ANY of the Friends people. *thinks* No, not really any of them. Maybe phoebe, I did like her character. But Friends always annoyed me anyway, even back in the day when it was such a hit show. And I’m sorry, but I don’t find that heavy botox-face look attractive, at all. She’d look a thosand times more beautiful if she kept it real, I think.
I’m sad they cancelled Dirt, that was a great show.
I never liked Ms Cox on Friends, but loved her on Dirt. She was evil and sexy and powerful and beautiful and smart! The show was amazing and not like anything else on tv. The plot lines were ground-breaking. It should have lasted for years! How many shows have a devoted slave cut off his own finger to accomplish the job for his boss/idol? Sigh.. we all should be so lucky to have one of those. A new show with an older women lusting after younger men sounds boring after that.
Dirt was freakin awesome and smart and snappy and took risks so OF COURSE it was cancelled.
