Um, remember when Broadway was a haven of respecting thespian professionals and not a place for reality TV stars to chill out when they don’t become the next pop phenomenon?
Yeah.
Aubrey Fucking O’Day will be appearing in Broadway’s production of Hairspray starting July 18. She’ll play Amber Von Tussle, Tracy Turnblad’s arch-nemesis.
Now, I’m not saying Aubrey O’Day’s not qualified to play an annoying little brat, but seriously? Aubrey O’Day on Broadway? Next thing you know Britney Spears will be taking on the role of Lady MacBeth with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
who is aubrey o’day?
Hey, typecasting happens. At least it’s not a solo singing role. I think.
She’s from Puff/Puffy/Sean Combs/P Daddy/Diddy/Whatever (?) group Danity Kane, made on the reality show Making the Band on MTV.
how is she going to lip synch on stage? honestly, this girl is just a couple years away from working the pole.

Excuse me dear, the camera is over here… Why is she posing with her back to the camera? Is there something special about her butt, or does she have scabby knees? Or does the front of her dress look even worse than the back?
i agree cj. there are so many things wrong with this picture.
the strange pinning of her dress that is riding up on the left.
the scary aquanet hair with the optional add on cone.
but what i find the most strange is her makeup: the face that is paler than her body making her look like a corpse and the very odd use of contour for cheek blush.
it all adds up to just wrong. i can say that in other pictures of her one eye is decidedly larger than the other and they look almost in proportion here. so maybe that was her goal – hide the squinty eye.
does she have any talent because she isn’t an up and coming fashion icon?
her “dress” doesn’t even befit the word – it looks like a piece of purple fabric that was cut too short then draped around her. and i’ve never, ever heard of her.
Well, Hairspray is a fun story, but it’s not exactly high art. Whether you like Aubrey or not, you’ve got to admit she’s talented–she can definitely sing.
Twat.
It is great publicity for a show when a well known person/celebrity/singer/BLAH debuts for even a little while. Also, Aubrey has very interesting pipes. Not so sure about her dress though.
Asta, she actually does have her own song, plus some solo lines in a couple other songs. So this could potentially be absolutely terrible.
i was never a real fan of the O’Day. i saw them in concert and uhh..YAWN. shes barely famous
Who is Aubrey O’Day???
Really.
I’ve seen her in this site and in Perez Hilton’s, but I don’t know why!

I love O’day she’s beautiful and funny you all are just haters.
wow u people are retarted making rude comments about her you dont really know her she is really talented and anonymous: like your famous either she got more talent than you
All you haters…….
Actually, Aubrey started acting first. She is probably a better actress than a singer.
Um actually, Aubrey grew up doing musical theater- that’s where most of her performance experience came from. People get so used to performers doing one thing that they have a hard time believing that they could be good at other things too. No Mariah Carey isn’t a good actress, but an amazing singer, however, there are some actors/singers/dancers/whatever who just generally perform well-are into different genres in the arts:)
damn!!..i think the girl looks might good!!
I think that Aubrey is judged unfairly quite often. I know that blogs, chat rooms, and sites like these are meant to evoke conversations like this but considering that none of us know Aubrey personally I don’t think anyone is entitled to criticize her the way so many people often do. She’s a human, just like the rest of us. The way people glorify celebrities and hold them in such high regard is ridiculous anyway. I know that recognition, praise and unfortunately, for lack of a better word/phrase, shit-talking, all come with fame, but honestly, I think the media and Aubrey’s critics have taken it a little far. I wish Aubrey a lot of luck and hope that she continues to live HER life the way she thinks is best, and if that includes being on Broadway GOOD FOR HER. I hope she does well playing the role of Amber Von Tussle and continues to have a successful career.
It looks like she made that dress out of a carpet. She didn’t make enough money working the pole?
