HEARING the enraged voicemail message from Alec Baldwin to his daughter brought a flood of bad memories back to the man who first introduced the “30 Rock” star to Kim Basinger on the set of 1991’s doomed “The Marrying Man.” “It all kind of brings it to the surface again for me personally,” said David Permut, producer of more than 20 movies, whose latest, “Charlie Bartlett” with Robert Downey Jr., just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. “If I were homeless on the streets and had a tin cup in my hand and somebody pulled me off the sidewalk and offered me a script to produce with Alec Baldwin committed to starring in it, I’d pass.” While “The Marrying Man” was a flop, it achieved legendary status because of Baldwin’s expensive flare-ups with Disney executives, which included wall-smashing, cellphone-destroying and chair-throwing. Reflecting on the star’s current critical success on NBC, Permut told The Post’s Mandy Stadtmiller, “When he plays a no-good [bleep], he excels. My personal feeling is that when he has to portray anybody with some vulnerability and sensitivity, I don’t think the audience buys it.”

  • Bravo, David Permut. Obviously you’re not on NBC’s payroll. I totally agree with you, David Permut. Unfortunately, Baldwin probably won’t go away unless more producers like you tell him to. (Which they will, very quickly, once it becomes apparent that now that we all know what a fraud Baldwin is, we’ve stopped financing his hollywood lifestyle.)

Alec Baldwin (pretending he want’s to quit his job at 30 Rock is just a publicity stunt to try and gain sympathy) won’t ever willingly quit acting, because he’s starring in the role of a lifetime – ‘magician’ . Alec Baldwin is a manipulative asswipe who has repeatedly victimized his own child and ex-wife, than tried to distract our attention from ‘what the left hand is REALLY doing’ because he’s so busy pointing the right hand at everyone else. “It’s not my fault” he screams – I can’t help it if a rude little pig, oops! I mean my daughter, oops! I mean my pain in the ass ex-wife, oops! I mean the mean judge, made me do it!’ It’s not MY fault!!!

I think he said it best, right at the beginning of that voicemail message to his daughter; “Once again I’ve made an ass of myself…”
and that, Alec Baldwin, is as about as ‘factual’ a statement as you’ll ever make, and the closest thing to ever accepting sole responsibility for your own behaviors.
