Ben Stiller is set to play triplets in an upcoming limited series called Three Identical Strangers.
The series tells the story of triplets Bobby Shafran, David Kellman, and Eddy Galland (all played by Ben) who were separated at birth in a bizarre social experiment back in 1961.
The identical brothers were used to help further understand the concept of “Nature Versus Nurture” and that meant some really strange choices. For instance one boy was sent to live in a low income home, another in a middle class home and the third in an affluent home.
Over the years, the boys would be visited regularly to document their progress.
A documentary of the same name was made by two of the brothers (Galland died of suicide in 1995) in 2018 and it won top prize at The Sundance Film Festival.
There’s no word on when we can expect to see it, but since there are no real big budget effects to create, I’m hoping for Spring 2024. A trailer for the documentary is below.
