Paul Haggis, the director of “Crash” among other movies, has been arrested in Italy on charges of sexual assault.
A woman in Italy alleges she was “raped for days” by Haggis! DAYS!
“We were supposed to work together, but instead he raped me from Sunday evening to Wednesday,” the woman told cops in Puglia, Italy.
State TV and other Italian media said she is a 30-year-old Englishwoman who had known Haggis before he came to the tourist town of Ostuni to participate in an arts festival that begins on Tuesday. They said he is being detained in a hotel room in that town.
On Sunday, Haggis’ U.S.-based attorney, Priya Chaudhry, told the AP that although she could not discuss the evidence under Italian law, “I am confident that all allegations will be dismissed against Mr. Haggis. He is totally innocent, and willing to fully cooperate with the authorities so the truth comes out quickly.”
A statement from Police says Haggis forced the woman to have sex, without her consent, for 2 days and then drove her to the airport and left her there. Airport workers noticed she didn’t seem ok and confused and they called police.
Police then took her to the hospital because she had “precarious physical and psychological conditions.”
It was at that point she told them what happened.
This is NOT Haggis’ first accusation of sexual misconduct. This man needs to be taken out.
