Netflix has done it again! Now, using Artificial Intelligence, the world will be able to hear and see famed artist Andy Warhol read some of his most private diaries.
Based on his famous journals, the docu spans from his childhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the soup can illustrations, as well as a never-before-seen glimpse into Warhol’s secret relationships and “romantic longings,” via diary entries he penned throughout the 20th century.
“I’m just a freak, I wasn’t very close to anyone. Although, I guess I wanted to be,” the AI-engineered Warhol says in the new trailer released Wednesday.
According to Hollywood Reporter an actor, Bill Irwin, record the lines, then used a text-to-speech algorithm that adopted Warhol’s Pittsburgh accent. The voices were then combined in an attempt to come as close as possible to the artist.
Andy Famously said everyone will be famous for 15 minutes. When’s your 15?
The Andy Warhol Diaries drops March 9 on the streaming service.
