Chris Evans didn’t have to fight too hard for the role of Gene Kelly in an upcoming film about the singing, dancing, actor. That’s because he came up with the film idea and will be producing it as well!
The film isn’t a biopic, but rather centers around a 12 year old boy who works on the MGM movie lot and develops an imaginary friendship with the Singin’ In The Rain actor while working on his latest movie.
Kelly is a movie icon and that’s supposed to always be extra hard on actors, so Evans better be up for the challenge.
Chris is also set to play “Buzz Lightyear” in the newest installment of the Toy Story films. The film will explore Buzz’s origin story.
“Anyone who knows me knows that my love for animated films runs deep. I can’t believe that I get to be a part of the Pixar family and work with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories unlike anyone else,” he said. “Watching them work is nothing short of magic. I pinch myself every day.”
