I’m super excited about the upcoming series on Netflix about the formative years of Wednesday Addams of the delightfully ghoulish Addams Family.
Recently it was announced that Jenna Ortega, who I’ve adored since she played Harley Diaz on “Stuck in the Middle” on Disney, will play Wednesday. While Luis Guzmán will play Addams patriarch Gomez Addams.
Now it’s been revealed the fabulous Catherine Zeta-Jones will play Morticia. The sexy and wise mother to Wednesday and son Pugsly. No word on who will play young Pugs.
The show has been described as a supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.
Even better? It’s being directed by none other than Tim Burton!!
I’m soooo excited. No air dates announced, but Netflix works fast. Expect to see this rolled out mid fall. Maybe even for Halloween release!
