If you have kids or were a kid in the last decade, you likely know who Dove Cameron and Cameron Boyce are. They were the stars of the insanely popular Descendants movies on Disney Channel. Not to mention they each had starring roles in Disney shows of there own.
This past July, Boyce died in his sleep from a seizure and Dove Cameron is making sure she always remembers him.
In a video for Vogue, the star took viewers with her when she went to get a tattoo of a gun with a flower in it. Which Cameron describes as “sort of a nationally recognized symbol for peace and anti-gun movements.”
Cameron explains that before the younger actor’s death, he’d created an organization called Wielding Peace — now run by the Cameron Boyce Foundation — which uses photographs as a means for advocating the end of gun violence. In one portrait for the project, Boyce holds a bouquet of flowers.
“It was really beautiful, and I’ve been trying to think of a tattoo to get for him since he passed,” Cameron said, “and I just felt that this one was really appropriate.”
