So CNN host Chris Cuomo was out and about Monday night when some random guy, filming the exchange (your first tip off that he’s egging Cuomo on), hollers over to Chris “What’s up, Fredo?” A reference to “The Godfather” where brother Fredo was a weak degenerate. Video at the bottom.
This sends Chris into a tizzy and I mean TI-ZAY! Like he develops this heavy Brooklyn like accent and starts laying into the guy about how disparaging the word is to Italians. Even going so far as to say it’s like “the N word for black people”, which, uh, no it ain’t. Fredo is a fictional character from Hollywood, the N word represents hundreds of years of actual cruelty and oppression. But yea, similar.
My fellow white people. Keep the blacks out cha mouth. You don’t know how to properly use them as an example so stop it. This is why we can’t have nice things.
“Don’t f–ing insult me like that. You call me ‘Fredo’ it’s like I call you punk b–ch, you like that?” Ok, yes. More accurate.
The man in the video insists that he believed the anchor’s real name was Fredo. Def not true tho. He was goading him.
But Cuomo, a dad of three, doesn’t buy it.
“You did not think that… stand up like a man,” he seethes. “Own what you said.”
The situation then escalates with Cuomo telling the man: “I’ll f–ing throw you down these stairs like a f–ing punk… you’re gonna call me Fredo, take a f–ing swing? I’ll f–ing wreck your shit.”
A CNN spokesperson told The Post: “Chris Cuomo defended himself when he was verbally attacked with the use of an ethnic slur in an orchestrated setup. We completely support him.”
Cuomo is the son of former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo and the younger brother of Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
