Guy Fieri is often the butt of jokes due to his …. lets call it unbridled razzmatazz. And I should know. I’m often making those jokes.
But it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that this chef and cartoon version of cool is broing it up with Mr Alright, Matthew McConaughey. It must be incredibly surreal to grab a beer with these two.
That’s why yesterday Matthew honored the Mayor of flavortown with a heartfelt speech during the restaurateur’s star dedication ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday.
I’m going to short hand some of this speech, but you should know McC refers to Fieri’s show, Diners, Drive-Ins And Dives, as “The triple D”. Of course he does.
‘We cooked a lot of food. We ate a lot of food. We drank a lot of spirits. We talked about life, and we talked about being authentic to who you are,” Mc C said in his speech. ‘Authenticity,’ he concluded, ‘We talked about it the first night we met, and in a business where you can be anyone you want to be, you’ve been you the whole time, and that ain’t easy. Congratulations, and congratulations on getting your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, brother.’
