Huh, well this is all a bit of a surprise… though really, maybe not. Mariah Carey has been split up from ex-husband Nick Cannon for a while now, and she’s been dating some billionaire bro named James Packer for the better part of a year. Well, they must be getting along pretty well, because James proposed, and now they’re engaged!
Apparently James proposed last night in New York, and Mariah said yes, and the rest, as they say, is history. Since James is filthy rich, he got Mariah a bespoke ring – a whopping 35 carats, designed by Wilfred Rosado. You can see the photo in the inlay above.
This will be Mariah’s third marriage, and you know what they say – third time’s a charm. Maybe this really is true love, and maybe it’ll last the rest of her life. Or maybe it’ll go down in flames in a few years like the last two. But whatever, I love me some Mimi and wish her all the best.
